The aggressive push to privatize public lands, explained.
America's federal public lands are truly unique, part of our birthright as citizens. No other country in the world has such a system. But during the first 100 days of President Donald Trump's second term, those lands have come under relentless attack.

It was already bad enough that huge swaths of public lands and waters are becoming landlocked by the the super wealthy, for their own enjoyment. ...And now this... It's infuriating.
Class war in the American west: the rich landowners blocking access to public lands
NYC underwent the same process of eliminating public spaces in Queens and Brooklyn that enjoyed views of the Manhattan skyline. Because of this, decades ago I took my girlfriend to a tiny sliver of "unoccupied" land off of Kent Avenue in Brooklyn to watch the Independence Day fireworks show over the East River. We brought lawn chairs and a picnic basket and were joined by a few others who knew of this secluded spot: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com
Similarly Lake George in upstate NY has less public spaces surrounding it. "No Trespassing" and "Private Property" signs pollute the roads around it. The loss of public space out west will be wholesale and permanent, like NYC.
Thank you, Republicans!
