Feliz Enrique was indicted with assault in the first degree and other crimes. The defendant allegedly approached a nine-year-old girl as she was playing on a Queens street and forcefully struck the child with his hand on 10 May. When a nearby, off-duty NYPD sergeant intervened with bystanders to apprehend him following the incident, Enrique allegedly bit off the top segment of the officer's right index finger.
