... The new rules forbid reporters from going into the hallway where Hegseth's office is located "without an official approval and escort from the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs" -- a job held by top Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell.

If reporters wish to visit the public affairs offices of any of the other services, "they are required to be formally escorted to and from those respective offices," the memo adds. The Pentagon will also require reporters to sign a document pledging to protect "sensitive information," likely setting up situations where unfavorable reporting involving documents could be used as pretense to strip journalists of access to the building. ...

It looks like Sec Hegseth has said to Journalists: if you say something bad about me, you will no longer be able to report from the Pentagon.


Similar to what Pres Trump has done with the White House Press.

Ive been to the pentagon a number of times in the late 80s and no reporters were roaming the halls. Do not know when this was allowed to start, but highly suspect either under obama or biden and about time it was stopped. Military needs security, not dem leakers.

I worked for the DOD for about 20 years. I had a TS SCI. Were you that special?

In MY experience reporters were NEVER included on a signal app (or any app) accidentally or on purpose.

Must only be allowed to happen in Trumplandia.

So ... does this also mean no more reporters included in classified briefings in the Signal app?

One would hope so!!
