Depeche Mode ...
OK, your comment struck a soft point for me.
There's this ...
Depeche Mode - People Are People (12" Version) (1984)

Regardless of the version, the basis of that song is, and remains, quite true.
thx for posting it.

Lyrics excerpt ...
...
[Intro]
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
[Verse 1]
Time stood still just like a photograph
You made me feel like this would last forever
Lookin' in your eyes
I see my whole life
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, oh
They say you know it when you know it, and I know
Oh, oh
Promise that you'll hold me close, don't let me go (Hey)
[Chorus]
Take my heart, don't break it
Love me to my bones
All this time I wasted
You were right there all along
You and I stargazin'
Intertwinin' souls
We were never strangers
You were right there all along

@#11 ... 1970's Tangerine Dream ...
Oh yeah.
I have their Richochet [vinyl] album. It is, imo, a great pseudo-live album.
Ricochet (Tangerine Dream album)
en.wikipedia.org(Tangerine_Dream_album)
...Ricochet is the seventh major release and first live album by the German electronic music group Tangerine Dream. It was released, on the Virgin label, in 1975. It consists of two side-long compositions mixed from studio recordings and the UK portion of their August"October 1975 European Tour. ...
One of the excellent excellent 70's progressive rock bands, imo.
Then there is also Larry Fast's Synergy.
In 1975, he released Electronic Realizations for Rock Orchestra.
Another excellent album.

No lyrics because the song is an "instrumental."
Yeah, that is what synthesized music sounded like back in the day ...
@#12 I saw Tangerine Dream live way back in the late 1980's. Yes, I had Ricochet as well.
Fun fact (or rumor)..Tangerine Dream used to be one of the LOUDEST bands in their shows.
Why? Because...and I'm cracking up typing this....for a good while they had their sound mixer BEHIND the stage!!! LOL!!!!
I also saw Philip Glass in concert...we were given 3D glasses for the show.
But the most amazing one, along the synth lines, I ever saw was a few years ago back in 2018... Jean-Michel Jarre. Holy crap... He even hauled his big-azzed monolithic synth unit complete with a jillion wires on-stage. And yes, he did the laser harp thing.
Speaking of those 1970's big-azzed monolithic synth unites, here's a video of Tangerine Dream LIVE in 1975...performing...Ricochet:

Oops, I was remiss.
Here's a link (the whole album ... because, that is how it should be enjoyed ...) ...

Thx for reminding me.
I just queued up Richochet to be enjoyed.
At time i wonder if "going solo" is a good thing or not.
For example, there's ...
Revivalists - Good Old Days (2023)
www.youtube.com
It's a great song.
But then, Mr Shaw, the lead singer seemed to have decided to go solo.
That seemed to have been greeted by major ~ho-hum~ by the music-enjoying public.
Hopefully, Mr Shaw will have enjoy sense to return the the Revivalists, and contributing to that band's great music.
Of course, imo.
And yes, in full disclosure, back in the day (70's) I was an employee of a major record label for a couple three years.
