In December of 2024 Donald Trump NBC news "we're not touching Social Security, other than we might make it more efficient, but the people are going to get what they're getting. And we're not raising ages or any of that stuff."

Along with potentially raising the retirement age, Commissioner Frank Bisignano suggested other measures to address the funding challenge.
