MEMPHIS -- Senator Akbari on Trump sending the National Guard to invade against the wishes of nearly all local officials: "This is an abuse of power ... Memphis deserves real solutions, not more political stunts."

But don't call Trump a Tyrant/Fascist, or some right wing kid will shoot someone!

All these Guardsmen have real jobs that suffer because Trump is hoping to give one of them an excuse to shoot someone.

Great. More guardsmen wandering around looking for Spanish speakers, hanging out on Beale Street and at Graceland, and avoiding the rough parts of town, because well, they are short timers and don't want rocks and bottles thrown at them ...

Anything inside the Memphis city limits are rough parts.

I can't think of a better reason to leave the National Guard than these meaningless and oppressive occupations of civilian population centers.

I think that the message the Guardsmen get from this is: Your community is next.

we were there a few years when K-State was playing in the Liberty Bowl.

That stadium is a complete POS in a horrible part of town. We visited Beale and Graceland.

It was fun....but yes, rough neighborhoods.

We stayed out East in Germantown. Pretty nice area.

Eberly: yes, both. I've walked the riverfront park, been to FedEx Forum, the Peabody, up and down Germantown Road many times, in Midtown, Mud Island, Bartlett, the Loraine Motel and De Soto County, MS. Few, if any posters on DR have traveled across this beautiful country than me ...

Trump is just practicing for when he really does call for Martial Law and the cessation of elections in places where there are a lot of Black and Brown voters. There is a reason both his Chief of Staff Kelly and his Secretary of Defense James Mattis said that Trump was "fascist to his core".
