Russias' Putin summit talks with India's Modi in Delhi

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold summit talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday, aiming to boost trade with the top buyer of Russia's arms and seaborne oil as Western sanctions squeeze their decades-old ties.

... Putin is on his first visit to India in four years at a time when New Delhi is engaged in talks with the U.S. for a trade deal to cut punitive tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on its goods over India's Russian oil purchases.

Moscow has been India's top arms supplier for decades and has said that it wants to import more Indian goods in an effort to grow trade to $100 billion by 2030 that so far has been skewed in its favour due to New Delhi's energy imports.

Since European countries cut back their reliance on Russian energy after Russia invaded Ukraine nearly four years ago, India has ramped up its purchases of discounted Russian crude.

"India faces a conundrum; by taking steps to strengthen ties with Moscow or Washington, New Delhi risks setting back ties with the other," Michael Kugelman, senior fellow at Washington's Atlantic Council think tank, wrote in Foreign Policy magazine this week. ...

imo, PM Modi is threading a fine needle here.

There seems to be a decades-old, let's say, cooperation between India and Russia.

Will that cooperation survive Pres Trump's attempts to destroy it?

LOL. Lewzer would be sent to bed. Lewzer is the Joffrey to Putin's Tywin.

... AI Overview

The statement that "Lewzer is the Joffrey to Putin's Tywin" is a political analogy, likely made in a social or commentary context, using characters from George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones series to describe a perceived power dynamic between an individual named "Lewzer" and Vladimir Putin.

In this analogy:

Tywin Lannister is a powerful, ruthless, and calculating patriarch who seeks to control the levers of power and secure his family's legacy by any means necessary. He is the true power behind the throne, operating with strategic foresight and a complete lack of sentimentality.

Joffrey Baratheon (or Lannister by blood) is a young, petulant, and cruel king who is the nominal ruler but lacks the intelligence, discipline, and respect of his subjects and even his own family. Joffrey constantly challenges Tywin's authority in an attempt to assert his own power, often making rash, shortsighted decisions that threaten the family's stability.

Therefore, the analogy suggests that:

- - - Vladimir Putin is the powerful, controlling figure (Tywin), the de facto leader who operates with cold strategy and ruthlessness to maintain his power and influence.

- - - "Lewzer" is the unstable, less effective, and potentially reckless figure (Joffrey), who holds some official position but is seen as an embarrassing, weak, or easily manipulable puppet or subordinate who might ultimately undermine the "Tywin" figure's control. ...

Hey, that is what AI suggests, so it cannot be wrong.

Right?
