Silver: Is Andrew Cuomo Toast?

Nate Silver, Silver Bulletin: Zohran Mamdani doesn't quite have the mayor's race locked up, but he's a heavy favorite unless there's an October Surprise.

More

Zohran is ahead based on younger voters, college graduates, and residents of Brooklyn and Manhattan -- basically what you might think of as the New York Times-reading portion of the electorate. While New York is more politically diverse than you might think -- having been a site of considerable Trump overperformance last year -- that's probably enough to get the job done.

Comments

I don't have a dog in the fight but hope Mamdani wins, so as to shake the Dems and open the party to younger people with modern perspectives and the backbone to fight back against the MAGA mouth-breathers with substance, not insults...

The truth is that Dem policies are more like the Constitution, and the teachings of JC, than are Republican policies.

Republicans continue to be the Party of Big Money, intolerance, racism, bigotry, and Chauvinism, while Dems, now constrained by Citizens United and money as speech made Law, for the most part look to the needs of the vast majority of The People rather than the top 3 percent.

Our country is reverting to the late 1800's Gilded Age of money always flowing upwards, rather than the corrections of the New Deal that made economics at least somewhat more of a level playing field.

Yes.

I hope Mamdani wins. I also hope Mamdani and Cuomo aren't splitting the left vote and giving NYC to the MAGA candidate.

The same youthful peace Samaritans across 60 universities and colleges who protested the Gaza genocide last year that the 2024 Democratic Party chose to ignore are making themselves heard in NYC. So, ICC-indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu may finally conquer the Gaza Strip and appropriate Palestinian lands for Israeli real estate developers, but AIPAC will lose the Crown Jewels of NYC.

Undaunted by AIPAC, the likeable Zohran Mamdani (33) reiterated that as NYC mayor, he would rightfully order the NYPD Commissioner to arrest the sinister Netanyahu the moment his El Al jumbo jet lands on the tarmac at JFKIA. Theoretically, an NYPD SWAT team would be racing to the 747 at the same time as Trumpf's USSS which protects foreign national leaders visiting the US. The State Dept DSS protects visiting foreign ministers and dignitaries.

And the youthful Mamdani challenged Dummkopf Trumpf to a televised debate rather than waste his time dealing with his pathetic minion, Andrew "Benedict Arnold" Cuomo, who turned his back on the Democratic Party that his father and he made lifelong careers with. Cuomo is collecting a modest pension for his tenure as the disgraced ex-NYS Democratic governor who sexually harassed women and lied about COVID casualties at nursing homes. His Emmy Award was revoked for these sins.

In the televised debate, Zohran will ask Trumpf about the 'BBB,' draconian cuts to SNAP and Medicaid, crypto-currency scams, and landlords making housing unaffordable for the poor. Of course, the Dotard-in-Chief declined to debate Zohran.

Good call BullBringer!

Why would they want a politician who has plans to help working class Americans?

You ------- stupid idiot.

Morons like you are the reason America is failing.

Keep sucking Trump's dick, FAGAt.

Cuomo already bowed out of the election.

The only reason Cuomo is back in is he has to be.

His owners told him to get back in or face the consequences.

He did as he was told.

Morons like BullBringer can't seem to understand why it's bad to have politicians who are owned by billionaires.

He's quite stupid.

My daughter just moved to Manhattan.

Her law firm isn't big on this guy but she's excited to see how it works out.

" I also hope Mamdani and Cuomo aren't splitting the left vote and giving NYC to the MAGA candidate."

Mamdani is the Democratic party's candidate for Mayor. The man who won the primary. Cuomo is the one threatening the vote split. My guess is he pulls more from Sliwa than Mamdani though.
