Nate Silver, Silver Bulletin: Zohran Mamdani doesn't quite have the mayor's race locked up, but he's a heavy favorite unless there's an October Surprise.

Zohran is ahead based on younger voters, college graduates, and residents of Brooklyn and Manhattan -- basically what you might think of as the New York Times-reading portion of the electorate. While New York is more politically diverse than you might think -- having been a site of considerable Trump overperformance last year -- that's probably enough to get the job done.

I don't have a dog in the fight but hope Mamdani wins, so as to shake the Dems and open the party to younger people with modern perspectives and the backbone to fight back against the MAGA mouth-breathers with substance, not insults...

The truth is that Dem policies are more like the Constitution, and the teachings of JC, than are Republican policies.

Republicans continue to be the Party of Big Money, intolerance, racism, bigotry, and Chauvinism, while Dems, now constrained by Citizens United and money as speech made Law, for the most part look to the needs of the vast majority of The People rather than the top 3 percent.

Our country is reverting to the late 1800's Gilded Age of money always flowing upwards, rather than the corrections of the New Deal that made economics at least somewhat more of a level playing field.
