More from the article ...

... A software update rolling out to Samsung's Family Hub refrigerators in the US is putting ads on the fridges for the first time. The "promotions and curated advertisements" are coming despite Samsung insisting to The Verge in April that it had "no plans" to do so. ...

OK, maybe this is just me. But when I buy a refrigerator, my main concerns are two-fold...

1) does it keep my stuff at the appropriate temperature?

... and ...

2) how long will it last?

That second question was added to my list after I had bought a refrigerator that died after five years, just past the warranty period for the sealed refrigeration system of the fridge that had failed.

So, they company timed that right. But the result is that I'll not buy another appliance from that major US company.

Screw Samsung for this invasive, unwanted advertising garbage brought DIRECTLY into peoples kitchens.

Just like the corporate overridden cars - hack that crap!

Let me make this plain. I hate a commercial. When one makes it through my blockers, when I go to the store, I will not buy that product. Anything but that product. The exact opposite of what a commercial is supposed to do.

You can't go anywhere in the modern world it seems you aren't exposed to this mess. To me, it says something is wrong with the product that they have to pay someone to trumpet their qualities. Your neighbor will for free tell you what works for him or is a good product without pay.

As soon as I saw this product on the sales floor, if I were looking for one to buy, I'd walk away and not consider it.

The only reason I got rid of that thing was because of the reduced water pressure and it ran on batteries that I had to start changing every 2 months. But it was a hit whenever I had snoobish liberals visit.

And it was cool to be able to turn on my kitchen sink faucet anywhere in America, well...just because I could.

@#7 ... easy fix. DOn't (and I don't and won't) buy fridges with screens ...

Of course, that begs the question ....

Why do kitchen appliances need screens?
