Republicans and the oligarchs do not want Americans to have universal, or even affordable healthcare, because in our sinister for-profit system, every sick, gunshot-wounded, food-poisoned, unvaccinated, or accident-befallen American makes money for the corporations.

Marco Rubella is an unimaginative good-for-nothing evil Empty Suit who "fell up" his entire political career and Republicans continue perpetrating "Social Murder" on their fellow citizens and permanent residents who are much less fortunate than them.

I would absolutely consider voting Republican if they credibly demonstrated a plan for universal health insurance paid for by the government.

Moreso if the Democrats campaigned on behalf of UnitedHealth and Aetna to keep it in private hands.

If so, what plan do you have to address that problem?

The dems tried at least to provide every American with health INSURANCE, so that they could have a chance at affording care.

Their plan, while far from perfect, was (and is) a sincere attempt to address a problem for the American people.

I will point out that the plan was passed without republican input (not because dems refused republican input republicans simply refused to provide any help)

As a result the ACA was a compromise plan, that again, while not perfect at least did something.

What have republicans done?

I am honestly curious.

I wished that they did. They gave us instead a plan created by Republicans. Hell Obama guaranteed the healthcare industry that no public option would be in the final product. We need universal single payer stat. That's all there is to it.

No one in this country of 337,000,000 people is going to get any kind of reasonably priced healthcare with the insurance lobby standing between them and their HCP.

And most of the democrats here are unwilling to admit that just as many of their representatives are in bed with the lobbyist as there are republicans. This is why the democrats were willing to kick the can down the road and pay the subsidies that eventually feed the insurance companies.

As I said earlier, we'd be better off had we never passed ACA. What we really needed to do was pass into law language that prohibits the pre-existing clauses should someone HAVE to change providers due to circumstances they couldn't control. But here we are, and anyone who thinks the insurance companies weren't in the backroom discussions about ACA are blind.
