... If the court does not act on this U.S. demand and two others - dropping investigations of Israeli leaders over the Gaza war and formally ending an earlier probe of U.S. troops over their actions in Afghanistan - Washington may penalize more ICC officials and could sanction the court itself, the official said.

Sanctioning the court would significantly escalate the U.S. campaign against the ICC, which has long been criticized by U.S. officials including both Republicans and Democrats, who say the court infringes on U.S. sovereignty. ...

Complicity in Genocide too.

Biden might be on the hook as well.

... ICC judges issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Israeli defense chief Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leader Ibrahim al-Masri last November for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Gaza conflict.

In March 2020, prosecutors opened an investigation in Afghanistan that included possible crimes by U.S. troops. Since 2021, the court has deprioritized looking into the role of the U.S. but it has not formally ended its probe.

To force the war tribunal to drop these charges, the U.S. earlier this year slapped sanctions on nine ICC officials, including judges and prosecutors. But it has stopped short of imposing sanctions on the court as an entity, which would severely disrupt the tribunal's work.

"There is growing concern ... that in 2029 the ICC will turn its attention to the president, to the vice president, to the secretary of war and others, and pursue prosecutions against them," the Trump administration official said. ...

This would be unlikely as other national leaders continued funding the Gaza genocide or sending Israel armaments (e.g. the UK, France, and Germany). Italian and Greek labor went on a massive strike in support of the poor Palestinians in Gaza. Only when the numbers of Muslim victims in Gaza was too much to bear did these national leaders slow down their support for Benjamin Netanyahu's pogrom against them.

So, going after "Genocide Joe" (as Dummkopf Trumpf called him) would entail going after EU leaders as well. And the EU is major funder of the ICC.

Nevertheless, regardless of Dummkopf Trumpf's blustering, sanctions, and threats, the ICC is proceeding apace convicting PIFWCs: www.icc-cpi.int

Nota Bene: Jack Smith was concluding his tour at the ICC when USAG Merrick Garland summoned him to investigate the Dotard-in-Chief as a "Special Counsel," not a "Special Prosecutor" like Archibald Cox who drove Richard Nixon out of the White House in 1974.

If the US is not a state party to the Rome Statute which established the ICC in 2002, why would Washington DC have sent (or allowed) AUSAs to prosecute PIFWCs at the ICC? Jack Smith may have worked at the ICC as a private citizen is what I come up with or another glaring hypocrisy has been exposed.

The ICC should simply lie, like Trump does.

Prosecute both Trump and Putin in absentia and prove top the world the ICC is somewhat relevant, or else they should STFU.

Somebody's really worried. MAGA just doesn't get it. Whatever sanctions the Trump admin can impose can be reversed by the next president. And if the next president is a democrat, any sanctions will be reversed. The whole world knows this so Trump's threats are empty.
