"If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn't their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated? I say, YES!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Trump once again threatened to revoke the broadcast licenses of major networks over what he deemed unfavorable coverage of him and his administration.

It maybe that such a move would not be as traumatic as people think.

If broadcast TV went away, the biggest shift would be content moving entirely to streaming platforms, forcing viewers to subscribe to multiple services for news, sports, and shows, while potentially losing free, universal access; however, many argue it would spur more varied online content, foster offline hobbies, and might even be replaced by future 5G broadcasting for mobile devices, but the loss of instant, universal local news and major live events on a single free platform would be a significant cultural change.

Our current POTUS would suffer the biggest loss because he would lose a platform for reaching millions of viewers. Billionaire owners would be pissed because their investments would be worth less. Subscribers of streaming services would save a few dollars each month because they should no longer have to pay a broadcast fee to receive broadcasts from non-existent broadcasters.
