Greenland PM Tells People to Prepare for Possible Invasion

(Bloomberg) -- Greenland's prime minister said the Arctic island's population and its authorities need to start preparing for a possible military invasion, even as it remains an unlikely scenario, as President Donald Trump continues to threaten taking over the territory.

"It's not likely there will be a military conflict, but it can't be ruled out," Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said at a press conference in capital Nuuk on Tuesday.

"Greenland's government will form a task force consisting of representatives of all relevant local authorities to help people prepare for any disruptions to daily life, Nielsen said.

The government is working on distributing new guidelines to the population, including a recommendation to have enough food for five days stored in their homes."

This is just Locker Room talk about grabbing Greenland by the P, right?

... One Copenhagen clothing store's tongue-in-cheek take on U.S. President Donald Trump's red baseball caps has become an unlikely symbol of Danish solidarity with Greenland, as protests mount over Trump's demands to buy the vast self-governing territory.
The red caps resemble the "Make America Great Again" caps of Trump's supporters but feature slogans like "Make America Go Away" and "Already Great". ...

Letters from an American

... At the ceremony, Trump looked over at the gifts laid out beside the podium at which he was speaking, and told the audience: "I heard they have a little surprise. Ooh, that looks nice. I hope it's the stick and not just the shirt. That stick looks beautiful. That looks beautiful. Maybe I get both, who the hell knows.

I'm president, I'll just take em."

And then, of course, Trump says he wants Greenland, a resource-rich autonomous island that is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

In a January 8, 2026, piece in the New Yorker, Susan Glasser noted that Trump dumbfounded his advisors in 2018 by suggesting a trade of Puerto Rico for Greenland and, in the fall of 2021, told Glasser and her husband, journalist Peter Baker, that he wanted Greenland as a piece of real estate.

"I'm in real estate," he told them. "I look at a corner, I say, I gotta get that store for the building that I'm building,' et cetera.

You know, it's not that different.

I love maps. And I always said, Look at the size of this, it's massive, and that should be part of the United States.' "

He added, "It's not different from a real-estate deal. It's just a little bit larger, to put it mildly."

(Observers note that map projections often either minimize or exaggerate the true size of Greenland: it's about three times the size of Texas.) ...

Trump doesn't have enough support to invade Greenland.

But it's a great distraction from the Epstein files.
