Mom of 23-Year-Old Killed by ICE Agent Voted for Donald Trump

The mother of Ruben Ray Martinez, a 23-year-old man who was fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, voted for President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, the family's attorney told Newsweek.

Video of the March 2025 fatal shooting of American citizen Ruben Ray Martinez obtained by CBS News appears to contradict claims by federal officials that Martinez was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent because he "accelerated" and "intentionally ran over" another agent with his car.

The killing of Martinez, who was 23 at the time, in South Padre Island, Texas, on March 15, 2025, was reported by local news outlets at the time. But it was not until February of this year, nearly 11 months later, that ICE confirmed one of its agents had fatally shot Martinez.

In an internal report released by a nonprofit watchdog group last month, ICE said Martinez "accelerated forward" and struck an agent during the March 2025 incident. The Department of Homeland Security claimed in a statement that an ICE agent had fired "defensive shots" into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez "intentionally ran over" another agent.

But body camera video, which has not been previously reported, shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot. When gunshots are heard in the video, the brake lights of Martinez' vehicle appear to be on. ...

They lied about their murder of Rene Good. They said she was "violent rioter", accused her of "domestic terrorism" and said she "weaponized her vehicle." Video shows that to be ALL LIES!
They said Alex Pretti was "brandishing" a gun and "attacked" officers. They called him an "assassin" who "tried to murder federal agents." They said he " "wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement." Video shows that to be ALL LIES!
They said Ruben Ray Martinez "intentionally ran over" an officer. The video confirms the account from passenger Joshua Orta who said an officer told them to leave the area so that is what they tried to do. They did not hit an officer and the car was slowly "crawling" along.

When you vote for fascism you get fascism. ICE is murdering Americans, lying about it, hiding evidence and blocking investigations. ICE has to go, leaders need to be prosecuted for their role in these cold blooded murders.

The prosecutor who brought presented the indictment in the death of Martinez needs to be immediately fired for incompetence. The video clearly shows ICE's entire defense was a lie. The Cameron County District Attorney's Office should be investigated for conspiring to coverup a murder.

I regularly watch police arrest videos. They never stand in front of or near the front of the car and they never shoot when a vehicle takes off.

FLETC instructors teach officers and investigators to approach a car from the sides and to stay away from the front to avoid getting struck by the car should the suspect flee.

We were also taught not to create crossfire opportunities and not to shoot at escaping vehicles.
