Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, March 06, 2024

Over the weekend, Democrats or Dem-adjacent persons watching polling of the 2024 presidential election got knocked over the head with a metaphorical anvil: a batch of polls collectively showing Joe Biden 2 to 4 points behind Donald Trump. I've gotten a lot of questions about these polls and polling generally, ranging from the technical, to the what does it mean, to please talk me off the ledge. So I wanted to try to address them here.

... and this surprises them.... why?

Have they been living in an off-the-grid cave for the past coupe of months?

Those polls results are nothing new.

Why are they suddenly only now waking up to that?

The Democrats seem to be clueless.

Welcome our next President in January 2025 ...

President Trump.

May God have mercy.

I get the people saying both of these candidates are too old... they obviously are.

What I don't get are the voters saying they're tired of the extremes, and that they want a moderate.

Biden IS the moderate.

After decades of Democrats moving to the right to chase more conservative voters, and Republicans moving to the extreme right to appease their base, the Democratic Party IS the moderate party. If anything Democrats are actually center/right.

If Democrats were really the radical left, as the right likes to attribute, Dems would be nominating someone like RFK jr. Those calling Democrats "radical leftists" should be forced to provide legitimate examples for debate (I'm not talking about fringe issues), every time they bring it up.

Biden IS the moderate."

There's a guy on here with a laundry list of things he doesn't like about Democrats.
Things that have been the status quo his entire life.
Things that only dawned on his awareness under Obama.

That's how they convince themselves Biden is an extremist.

A. Get out and vote

B. Don't take all these polls too seriously. Just saw one making huge headlines all over ... the sample group was 1000. And that's probably mostly people who still use landlines.
