I don't use social platforms to navigate politics. I base my judgement on the very first lie that comes out of a candidate's mouth in addition to past and current performance that are relevant on both the world stage and the preservation of democracy at home.
The last Republican I liked was Dwight D. Eisenhour ~~ so that should tell SHRIMPY something.

My dad was a paratrooper and had great respect for President Eisenhower. I was 12 and noticed my mom and dad having a very serious conversation and I heard him say "well I just don't think the president would tell a lie". it was 1960 and we were denying the facts concerning the U-2. then in '74 I was traveling to California and we stopped in the middle of Arizona 'cause we'd found a spot where we had radio reception ...sat there about an hour waiting to hear Nixon address Watergate...and my partner and I determined that the president wouldn't just outright lie. JFK and Clinton certainly wouldn't win any accolades for veracity. And still we bend over backwards and accept the most egregious BS from people who show us over and over, that they are not to be trusted. I guess that's why they say you get the government you deserve

Eisenhower was the ONLY Republican my dad ever voted for. Including Reagan. Dad was a solid Democrat, and so am I.

My father and mother were solidly GOP voters. Even Ford...
I used to be but I am not any longer. Only a fool would vote that way unless you are at a minimum the top 1%. I recently said something to that effect to my mother (my father died when I was a teen). She is in absolute denial about the agenda being pushed by the right. When I point it out and how it affects her she says "oh that's not true"...
