Hunter Biden, who was with his father in the White House Wednesday afternoon, and First Lady Jill Biden have both urged him both to stay on and to fire his staff. One source of tension was that Dunn and Bauer had urged Hunter Biden to keep a lower profile for the last year.

Because his staff is to blame for that debate performance?

Joe should listen to his "ex"-cokehead son. Fire his staff and put Hunter in charge. Maybe take any nutritional supplements that Hunter suggests. Should make for a more interesting second debate, in any event.

Hunter is back in the White House - how much longer until the Secret Service finds another bag of cocaine that mysteriously lacks CCTV footage of how it got there and the owner is never identified?

Hunter Biden may not be uniquely unqualified to offer advice, but he's demonstrated massive failings of judgment that secure him a spot way up at the top of the list of people whose opinion on this ought to be suspect just out of the gate. I understand Jill Biden's reluctance here. But this business about being from Scranton, Philly, Altoona, or Blue Ball and being "tough" and "Irish" whatever misses - and intentionally misses - the point. Joe Biden shows up for a debate a week ago this past Thursday and puts on a spectacularly awful performance. So bad, in fact, that over a week later any discussion of Trump's lies at the "debate" is but a whisper. What people are talking about is how Joe Biden lit himself on fire and then lit the fuse on a political dynamite stick. He deserves better than this - his performance in office has been such a positive improvement over his predecessor's wretchedness - and so does the country.
