A teacher in Mississippi is no longer employed after giving students what she thought was beef jerky but was actually beef treats for dogs, WTVA reported. Dr. Lisa Langford, the superintendent of the Calhoun County School District, told WTVA eight children at the school had at least a bite of the treats during a birthday celebration for a few students. One of the students did go to the doctor with a stomachache, according to WTVA. The superintendent credited the school nurse for her quick response after learning what happened. WTVA reports the school district alerted the parents of the children who had consumed the dog treats about what occurred. School officials did not release the name of the teacher but, according to WTVA, said she's no longer with the district. |
