I'm confident Trump can single handedly double that in the next four years.
I know another tax cut for America's wealthiest will help get us there.
MAGA! MAGA! MAGA!

Just please don't tax billionaires. They can't handle it.

The US National debt hit a new record every single day he was president the last time, so you are likely correct.

Well ya know... the economy is cyclic... the highs and the ups last about 6-7 years... the crashes last a couple of years sucking up a large percentage of the high...and the recovery takes 5 or 6 years to regain what was lost and grow again.
It doesn't matter who is in charge...
Biden had four good years... stellar for the stock market... envy of the world...
Imma buy some popcorn... go on like youtube never happened

"That's nothing, I'll get it way over 40T in my first year in office, hopefully 50T by the time I move to Venezuela!
Donalt Trump but as Elon told less afluent Americans there's going to be some economic suffering for the non-billionaire Trump suckers.

Here's a clever political strategy: cut taxes for billionaires that cost trillions of dollars and then blame your successor for the inflation it causes; knowing of course, all your suppoters are too stupid to connect the dots.

The debt isn't cyclic

When will you realize the stock market is the first beneficiary of the dollar creation system, that sustains the US government?
And will be the last to fall.

I was just... thinking about trends. Sometimes it's not bad to lose an election. Really Bill Clinton scored in his timing as did Obama...sealed their historical reputations.
It wasn't really Bushturd2... it was his timing... and big business greed.

aaaaaaannnnnnd who is going to collect on this debt and what will it look like? Seriously... I want to know. Been listening to this ghost story all my life... except during Clinton years when he was paying it down... who is this mysterious and deadly debt collector?
Can someone tell me what I am supposed to be afraid of? Everyone I know who has accrued huge debt and couldn't pay it off just filed bacruptcy and poof. They gonna put us in debtors prison? Gonna repo my SUV? All the SUVs?
Personally... I would never go bankrupt... I'd rather die... but that's just my ego tripping... and the thought of killing myself keeps me from accruing a lot of debt. Yet I am always hearing about this HUGE debt that doesn't matter when they talk about going to war.
I'd like to worry about something tangible...threatening... evil instead of some abstract like this debt that never goes away and somehow nothing changes because of it... and yet it's scary.

One might think all those tax cuts for corporations and upper income earners since '80 were a horrible mistake.

Here what was said about that:
Reagan proved deficits don't matter.
Dick Cheney
so... what's the problem? What's the threat? Tell me the pending doom. I keep hearing about it. They keep yammering about it. What is going to happen?... a hand full of oligarchs are going to pick up their marbles and move to another planet?... what? what? what?

A quick Google search reveals: The annual cost to taxpayers to service the national debt was $726 billion in July 2023, which was 14% of total federal spending. As of October 2024, the cost to maintain the debt is $82 billion, which is also 14% of the total federal spending in fiscal year 2025.
Perhaps, just maybe, there might be better uses for that money than enriching the debtholders?

Wait Clown, you're not disputing this? I mean for the last 4 years you said your party had it under control. What happened? Let me guess, it just shot up because Trump won the election? Just crawl back under your rock. The adults will be in charge in January.
