Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, February 02, 2025

In one of the biggest trades of superstar players in NBA history, the Dallas Mavericks sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis in a three-team swap that also sent Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to L.A.; Max Christie and the Lakers' 2029 first-round draft pick to Dallas; and Jalen Hood-Schifino and two second-round draft picks to the Utah Jazz. The trade shocked the league. Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant had this reaction: "Insane. It's crazy. Crazy."

It's absolutely certifiably insane. The Mavericks gave away a 25-year-old who is already one of the best players in the entire league and got back so little.

Whites are racially insane. Everything is couched in racial terms.

Whites do racism, basketball not so much.

I'm trying to think of another example of a team losing a superstar like this, in a trade the team wanted, as opposed to free agency or a trade the star demanded.

Luka is a global star not yet in his prime who may end up one of the best NBA players of all time. The Mavericks said goodbye to all that for a 31-year-old star with injury concerns and one first round pick. They didn't even talk to multiple teams to get full value or tell their own coach or players this was being considered.

I can see a lot of fans giving up over this. It's too much to abide.

If the Mavs had to take Bronny in the trade it would have been worth it for the Lakers...

The Dallas sports market shows are livid.

Jerrah Jones, however, must enjoy them being distracted from chewing on his ass.

His team actually doesn't look as bad as it might have after some really good hires for the rest of the coaching staff.

Just heard from someone who should know what the Mav front office was thinking....

that they were concerned about his calf injury, about how long he would take to come back from it given that he has his own Med staff who are not in the habit of pushing him aka his weight and conditioning habits... and that they were about to have to empty the bank account for him.

Also they think they are in a 'win now' mode. And that A. Davis is better than some draft choices that help them right away.

Of course, that's all BS to the Fans.
