... The move by the Office of Personnel Management would allow the White House to fill those jobs with individuals whose political views align with the administration. It's also part of a broader shift to bring in more political appointees to positions that have long been held by career officials.

OPM's acting director Charles Ezell in a memo Thursday announced the classification change to chief human capital officers, or CHCOs, saying their roles go far beyond technical matters.

"The modern CHCO makes, implements, and advocates for some of the most controversial policies in modern American politics on behalf of their Agency Head and the Administration," the memo said.

The shakeup is the latest effort on behalf of the administration to gain more control of the federal bureaucracy, a job that has fallen primarily to Trump's billionaire ally Elon Musk, who oversees the effort to reduce government waste. Last month, OPM also moved to reclassify agency chief information officers as political appointees, giving Musk's Department of Government Efficiency easier access to federal databases. ...

So, it seems that after the chain-saw massacre by Mr Musk of the Federal Government, Pres Trump has laid the groundwork to realize Mr Musk's error in firing so many people.

Because of these HR chiefs, he will now be able to hire new people who express unfettered loyalty and adulation to [the self-named] King Trump.

Until a Democrat takes office again.

Trumpy is trying to take America back to before the 1830s and to the old civil service of party loyalists in a "to the winner go the spoils" system.
