For one thing, it felt like baseball never needed me, to say nothing of wanting my presence. For two, I couldn't practice it alone the way I could basketball. Not to mention, the truth that I never saw baseball players as aspirational"that far as I could tell, they failed to transcend their game, or even their teams, to become stars in the culture.

This "opinion" piece is a classic example of looking for racism where it doesn't exist.

Notice the article is trying very hard to find an excuse to say baseball is excluding blacks. It feels wrong. This whole article feels wrong.

And more and more, blacks are tiring of it.

If you find a statistic about race disparity, the most important thing to do is not talk about it or think about it in any way. Or even better, attack the person who brought up race in the first place. /s

He's got a point.

70% of NBA players are black, despite the fact that black people represent about 12% of the total US population.
