In this letter written to DNI Tulsi Gabbard, senior Democratic lawmakers accused her of violating the law with personnel moves that threaten the independent oversight of the 18 intelligence agencies she oversees. In this letter, they provide new details of a standoff between Gabbard and her congressionally mandated inspector general. At stake is the fate of an office established by Congress in 2010 to provide independent oversight over what are now 18 US civilian and military intelligence agencies. Dotard Trumpf has frequently shown hostility toward inspectors general " he fired one of Johnson's predecessors during his first term in 2019 " and in Jan 2025 he fired most inspectors general at federal Cabinet agencies. |
