Isidro Perez, a 75-year-old Cuban national in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, died at HCA Kendall Florida Hospital on June 26. The cause of death remains under investigation, according to ICE. Perez, who was detained at the Krome Service Processing Center, reported chest pains to ICE Health Services Corps personnel around 7 p.m. on the day of his death. Miami Dade Rescue responded, administering life-saving measures including an Automated External Defibrillator shock and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to which Perez initially responded. He was then transported to Kendall Florida Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:42 p.m. Perez was arrested by ICE on June 5, 2025, in Key Largo under charges of inadmissibility pursuant to the Immigration and Nationality Act. |
