California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday proposed new districting maps for California that would only take effect if Texas goes ahead with its plan to gerrymander its voting district map to enable five more Republican house seats.

If Republican policies are so popular, why do they need to redistrict? Run on the policies.

Recent polls show Californians want to keep the current anti-gerrymandering system, something like 64% vs 34%.

Shooting themselves in the foot by handing power to the GOP that targets California in federal budget cuts and tax increases.

Sometimes idiots get what they deserve. In this case, it will be the idiot Californians who help the GOP into office in 2026 to cement Hair Furor's agenda into our government for another two years, plus 3 generations to undo it.

Did he propose a map?

I was under the impression Newsom hadn't released a map.

I have seen quite a few versions.
