Speaker Vows to Stop California, Ignores Texas
California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday proposed new districting maps for California that would only take effect if Texas goes ahead with its plan to gerrymander its voting district map to enable five more Republican house seats.

If Republican policies are so popular, why do they need to redistrict? Run on the policies.

Recent polls show Californians want to keep the current anti-gerrymandering system, something like 64% vs 34%.
Shooting themselves in the foot by handing power to the GOP that targets California in federal budget cuts and tax increases.
Sometimes idiots get what they deserve. In this case, it will be the idiot Californians who help the GOP into office in 2026 to cement Hair Furor's agenda into our government for another two years, plus 3 generations to undo it.

Did he propose a map?
I was under the impression Newsom hadn't released a map.
I have seen quite a few versions.

Sure Californians are against gerrymandering but politics today is too important to let the other side do it without responding in the same way. Gavin Newsom is doing his job by protect the political power of the voters in California. It's just so amazing how Republicans will gerrymander shamelessly and the cry foul when the Democrats do the same thing!

There is a big difference between California and Texas (especially highlighted in this matter):
In California the people will decide what is best for them.
In Texas the Goopers will decide what's best for the people.
Enjoying your FAFO yet America?

This entire stupid debacle proves what I've been saying on here for years. Both sides just do what the other side does. No matter how shady one side is, the other side is guaranteed to call them out for it and then DO THE EXACT SAME THING. This has been going on since at least the 70s. They are all freaking stupid. If what Texas is doing is so bad, then vow to make yourselves better. Instead, Dems just devolve to Rep tactics. What makes this situation look worse for Dems is that it's already been proven time and time again that Dem states have gerrymandered like crazy and some of their maps look like children drew them. For Reps, they got their panties in a wad because of cancel culture, then they turned around and decided to do the same with some Dem leaders. If cancel culture is bad, stop doing it yourselves.
The fact so many people cling to one side as if they aren't part of the problem is killing America.

Blah blah both sides are the same blah blah blah..
There are not "two sides" to reality. It's an illusion being used to manipulate you. You have bought into the whole "alternative facts" lie.
You are being manipulated.
Unfortunately it appears to be way beyond your capabilities to understand.
There are more things in heaven and earth than dreamt of in your philosophy.
Enjoy your FAFO.
