Charlotte the stingray is expecting pups any day"the only problem is the aquarium has no idea how she became pregnant.

It's called parthenogenesis and it's not terribly uncommon among even vertebrates.

Yeah, I had that as one of the possibilities in the summary before it was rewritten. The other being a hybrid with one of the sharks, which would create a shark-ray. Which would be pretty awesome if it lives, IMHO. Probably more interesting than ligers.
