While Cue said Apple won't replace Google as its default option out of fear of losing the revenue its deal generates, he said he believes AI search apps will eventually replace standard search engines.

Yeah, a major blow to Alphabet's control over the web.

This is actually a huge deal as Google Search has been increasingly useless due to their need to be politically correct and generate as much money as possible in search by prioritizing certain results.

On this website, I always post links to actually back up what I state and all of that is based on facts or figures that I have read in previous articles. However, in the recent times, it is becoming increasingly difficult to use Google Search to find those older articles. Some of the time, it will be still available, but buried 4-5 pages back.

Personally, I have switched to using Grok for a majority of my search requests when I am looking for a specific supporting article because it is way more efficient than doom scrolling Google looking for an older link.

This is just one thing that is destroying Big Tech's ability to shape public opinion. Reports of Gen Z switching back to non-Smart Phones is also something I welcome.

Ridiculous, we don't control the web.

This is true. But AI is overtaking "search", Google search engine is becoming irrelevant from a User Interface perspective.
Soon Apple phones will use Apple AI for search.

I haven't seen Grok spit up old articles perhaps you can share a "prompt" i could try.

This is all funny to me because Android and iOS are horrible and they are trying to invade the PC space, further spreading their misery.
