Louisiana is asking the Supreme Court to gut the central provision of the Voting Rights Act and ban any use of race in redistricting. In a legal brief filed Wednesday, the state urged the court to overturn a landmark 1986 ruling that established a legal test for when a voting map illegally dilutes minorities' voter power.

This is very bad news. Louisiana won't even defend its own map in SCOTUS. It abandoned its own Black voters. Those of us committed to defending the VRA are now entirely on our own. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/ ...

At this point, I remain to be convinced that it is only "old white guys."

You currently seem to have State Legislatures of late denying, or apparently planning to deny, the vote of non-whites.
