New York City's outgoing Mayor Eric Adams has designated the long-embattled and art-filled Elizabeth Street Garden as parkland, weeks after Zohran Mamdani vowed to evict the plot to build affordable housing.

... The election may be over in NYC, but superloser Mayor Eric Adams isn't done fighting against Zohran Mamdani. In the last two weeks, Adams has made, or flirted with, maneuvers that could cause some political headaches for mayor-elect Mamdani and even stall his affordability agenda. ...

Yeah, I have seem the animosity of mayor Adams against Mayor-elect Mamdani on the local news.

It seems mayor Adams is stalling on even having any transition talks with Mayor-elect Mamdani.

To me, that just shows that Mayor Adams doesn't care enough about the people of NYC to even try to work towards a smooth transition to the Mayor-elect chosen in a large majority by the people of NYC.

It just shows to me who controls Mayor Adams. Not the people of NYC.

I doubt this specific garden spot is deserved or required any transformation, but I believe it's a slam-dunk legislation.

Rent Guidelines Board appointees seem right in line with building more lording complexes.

Short-sighted, imo. That very first step is quite a doozy.

Mamdani should consider his mothers input more saliently.

This mayoral "battle" does appear to be more of egos than logos, imo.

My original OP was edited. The piece I contributed did not mention this garden but concentrated on sore loser Eric Adams' sabotage efforts against Zohran Mamdani by allocating more funds to the NYPD and cramming the NYC boards with other losers that are against Zohran's vision for a more affordable NYC. Zohran stated he wanted to maintain the NYPD at 35,000 and keep the female commissioner.

Superloser Eric Adams bleated that "he was mayor until 31 Dec."

America is not allowed to have any Muslims in government, according to Islamophobes like Laura Loomer, Randy "the Hebrew Ham Sandwich" Fine, mega-oligarchs Larry and David Ellison, ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg, mega oligarch Felon Musk, and other AIPAC malefactors. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) never endorsed Zohran Mamdani and House Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) finally endorsed him at the last minute. Both Democrats are super-funded by AIPAC.

So, AIPAC and oligarch proxies will discredit and sabotage the Muslim Mayor-elect of NYC because he gives voice to the downtrodden, whether they are in the US, Ukraine, or the Gaza Strip.

Next year when UNGA convenes in NYC, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum and Ukraine President Volodomir Zelensky will no doubt happily make time to meet Mayor Zohran Mamdani while the despicable ICC-indicted war criminal Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu wonders if an NYPD ESU team is waiting for his El Al plane on the tarmac of JFKIA.
