NYC Offers Free FIFA Fan Events in Every Boro Over 39 Days

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) and the FIFA World Cup 2026 NY/NJ Host Committee announced a free, citywide slate of Official NY/NJ Fan Events across all five boroughs, bringing live match viewings, cultural programming, local businesses, and interactive experiences directly to New Yorkers at no cost.

Place where I live just made everyone clear their cars out of the parking area, so we were left with a couple big empty asphalt parking lots for two days.

Of course, they never did a damn thing. Now it's raining.

Anyway, with these big empty lots, with some walls, and a fence, my initial thought was, "I wish my grandkids were here. This is a dream playground. Infinite possibilities."
