Kansas has some of the most permissive gun ownership laws in the US, not regulating semi-automatic firearms, so-called "assault weapons," "large capacity magazines," "ghost guns," bump stocks, or similar items.

There are no requirements for licenses to purchase handguns and no firearms registration.

In an average year, 482 people die by guns in the Jayhawk State; 68% of gun deaths in Kansas are by gun suicide. Kansas ranks 22nd nationally for mental health services in 2024, improving from 51st in 2022.

Nationally, 46,686 people die by firearms in an average year, a rate of 13.8 deaths per 100,000 people or one every eleven minutes.

Ronald Williams Sr (53) was a registered sex offender and had a long record of felonious criminal conduct.

Yet in Kansas, he had access to a firearm which was then used to kill six people, including himself.

The 2nd amendment protects the rights of mass murderers and psychopaths.

It was originally intended to prevent someone like Trump from controlling this nation.

Unfortunately decades of brainwash have convinced republicans to embrace fascism.
