Nothing is perfect. ACA was imperfect but met a need.

Hopefully, we've learned what was good and what was bad about ACA.

Now we have the situation where the President is ready and willing to tackle healthcare.

We need cost controls tied to whatever Healthcare system we inact. Lack of cost controls was ACA'S ultimate undoing.

The problem with throwing more money at ACA witbout cost management is it's always a temporary fix because costs will rise to match, guaranteed. The system resets to a higher baseline.

If the mandate had been kept, now we'd have healthy young people subsidizing the unhealthy and ACA would still be coming back to the extensions trough for more.

Every year, the money needed will always go up a little bit more, with no end in sight, unless someone does something unpopular like slamming on the brakes.

I've written several things about different aspects I won't repeat.

I agree ACA was well timed, but it's no longer cost effective.

I've said several times the last couple of decades group rates were increasing quicker than inflation.

ACA wasn't a bad idea. It just didn't solve real problems.

ACA went into effect in January.

Apparently our renewal must have been around that time.

Although ACA didn't effect employer group plans directly, a commonly held opinion was people were expecting an increase so insurance companies took advantage of it.
