A drug-resistant fungus, Candida Auris, is spreading rapidly in US hospitals, posing a severe threat to patients who need invasive medical equipment. Georgia has seen over 1,300 cases as of the end of Feb 2025. Candida Auris, or C. Auris, is particularly dangerous in health care settings, where it spreads easily through invasive medical equipment such as breathing tubes, feeding tubes, syringes, or catheters. The fungus is resistant to many household cleaners and traditional hospital disinfectants, like ammonia-based cleaning solutions. C. Auris is not a threat to the general public. read more
Trump is preparing a new travel rule that could force Canadians planning to stay in the country for more than 30 days to register their information with the US government and submit to fingerprinting. Effective 11 Apr, affected people would have to create an account with USCIS and schedule an appointment for fingerprinting as part of a background check. Canadian snowbirds began selling their Florida homes before this lunacy because of rising insurance costs. AI calculations suggest that the Sunshine State will lose billions of dollars of lost revenue from these Canadians. Real estate vultures will no doubt be taking advantage of lower condo prices. The Monday collision between a cargo ship and an oil tanker in the North Sea "has a high risk of being an environmental disaster in really important protected areas." Scenes of Kiev's troops mangled, burned, and on the run filtering back to the capital have reinforced distrust of America and Russia. Besides the wealthy oligarchs, the biggest winners of the Nov 2024 election are war criminals Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu. The hard-working American taxpayer, the Ukrainians, and the Palestinians, are the biggest losers of that pivotal election. read more

The Premier of British Columbia is considering tolls for the US truck traffic that drive through his province en route to Alaska and back. And the next logical federal step for Ottawa would be for American citizens to be fingerprinted at the Canadian POEs. And sadly in Jan 2025, the US and Canada quietly signed an agreement that shares information on each other's permanent residents. The agreement impacts potentially millions of permanent residents in Canada and even more in the US.
This means the data in America's "electronic gulag" just got bigger.
