This is obviously some kind of scam. There is no Dept of Education.
It's shut down. Kick those imposters to the curb!
Staff at the Department of Education received a notice Tuesday instructing them to leave the building by 6 p.m. local time and informing them that all department offices in Washington, D.C., as well as regional offices, will be closed Wednesday

Hmmm. Lots of Chinese nationals enrolled at these colleges. As soon as the US Government tries to claw back grant money, some school somewhere will sign up the CCP to fund research at that US school, to 'help' those Chinese students complete their studies. The money should start flowing in a few weeks...

The DOE already controls them, that's why our kid's test scores are so bad. So no MAGA doesn't want to control our schools, they want the schools to control the schools. Maybe if you actually went to school you would understand.
