Former Smiths front man Morrissey is canceling his upcoming concerts at Foxwoods and MGM Music Hall due to a "credible threat on his life." Boston's MGM Music Hall posted this on Instagram: "In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey's life. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and band, tomorrow's engagement at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway has been cancelled." Noah Castellano (26) was arrested after he posted a threat against Morrissey on social media: "I will attempt to shoot you many times with a very large gun that I own illegally." Castellano was charged with making threats to cause death or bodily harm and released from custody on $5,000 bail. The lunatic was ordered to live at his father's Washington, DC home and some reports suggest that he may be a Canadian citizen from Ottawa. read more

In August, 35,697 US properties were foreclosed, undergoing default notices, scheduled auctions, or bank repossessions. This is down 1% from a month ago but up 18% from a year ago. "The ongoing rise in both foreclosure starts and completions suggests that some homeowners may be experiencing added financial strain in the current high-cost and high-interest-rate environment." Nationwide, one in every 3,987 housing units had a foreclosure filing in August 2025. States with the worst foreclosure rates were Nevada, South Carolina, and Florida. Texas, Florida, and California led the nation in foreclosure starts. Lenders started the foreclosure process on 24,254 US properties in Aug 2025, down slightly at 0.2% from last month but up 16.9% from a year ago. read more

The percentage of US adults who report having or being treated for depression has exceeded 18% in both 2024 and 2025, up about 8% since the initial measurement in 2015. The current rate of 18.3% measured so far in 2025 projects to an estimated 47.8 million Americans suffering from depression. Most of the increase has occurred since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Depression rates have risen dramatically since 2017 among adults under the age of 30, doubling from 13.0% in 2017 to 26.7% in 2025. The current estimate is up from 24.6% measured in 2023, indicating that depression continues to be a worsening problem among young adults. Among those in households earning under $24,000 per year, reports of depression have risen from 22.1% in 2017 to 26.1% in 2023 to 35.1% now, a 13-point increase in eight years. The change for these lower-earning Americans is particularly notable given the nine-point increase since 2023. read more

Jeremy Fistel (44) of Plano, TX was charged in Queens County, NY with making terroristic threats against NYS Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani. The defendant left repulsive telephone messages on the NYC Mayoral candidate's phone from June to July 2025. The dangerous misfit was extradited to NYC. "As alleged, the defendant threatened an elected official by leaving a series of increasingly alarming anti-Muslim messages with the office of Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani. The defendant told the assemblyman to go back to Uganda before someone shoots him in the head, to keep an eye on his house and family, to watch his back every second until he leaves America, and that he and his relatives deserve to die." The white supremacist was indicted on 22 counts of terroristic and hate crime charges and he faces up to 15 years in a NYS prison. After his family posted a $30,000 bond, Judge Michelle A. Johnson ordered the miscreant to return to court 19 Nov (after the NYC mayoral election). read more
