If the intent was to bring jobs back to America, there would be specific incentives to do just that: bring jobs back to America. As it is, IRS regulations that incentivize companies to outsource remain on the books. Also, companies can still move those factories to some other country that have not been targeted with tariffs.

What's so interesting and tragic about all of this is that prior to Trump, no Republican was actually stupid enough to follow through on all of their government is bad rhetoric. Trump is actually doing what republicans have always said they wanted and now they and the rest of us have to live with the consequences. Republicans are the only ones that can fix this but it will come at a price that they are unwilling to accept: acknowledgement that they have lied for decades about the benefits of federal government. The real reason for their lies is the success of the civil rights movement. They realized that the federal government was big enough and strong enough to IMPOSE it's will on the states and the states didn't like it.

There is an orchestrated effort by Trump to make America sicker, poorer, less secure, less influential and more divided. Who benefits?

As a lark, I asked ChatGPT to plan a road trip for me; stopping every 3 hours for a rest stop. If not for the fact that it responded much faster than a human could, I would have thought I was communicating with a human. The response was very readable and to the point of my request showing rest stops along the interstate. That said, the directions weren't quite right. I have made that trip many times over the years and know that route. Also, I had been consulting with Google Maps to provide directions.

Based on that very brief encounter, it seems as if it understood what was requested of it and was able to communicate its results in a very understandable manner. Where it had some difficulty was assimilating all of the data in the proper sequence to satisfy the request. To be fair, it's been 10+ years since I have made that trip and although the roadway has not changed, the signage showing interconnecting roads may have. Maybe the AI had accessed to updated signage?

If documentation is so difficult to acquire, couldn't the judge draw an adverse inference and make a ruling anyway? Also, considering the lack of cooperation, could the judge appoint a "monitor" to oversee what DOGE is doing?

I'm wondering what happens when the Executive Branch ignores this judge, like they ignored the last judge ... it's not like they're going to arrest themselves, and barring that, what can the courts do to make them comply?

They can start dismissing cases brought by the DOJ. Sounds crazy but why should a lawless president expect anyone else to obey the law?

There are so many judgements going against Trump that, some day soon, he will say he will not comply. Then the s... will hit the fan. If a president fails to abide by the law, why should anyone? If should a thing were to ever happen, I would expect a judge to start dismissing cases brought by the DOJ with the reason being that a lawless president has no authority to compel anyone to abide by federal law.

The emergency that Trump declared that gave him the authority to implement these tariffs can be rescinded by congress if only they hadn't ceded their authority to do so . That's right, republicans gave away congress's authority to put Trump in check. Why would they do that? It's obvious that they want to trash the US economy just as much as Trump does. That's is probably why they are not condemning Trump for chaos that he is causing.

People can't run their businesses and/or plan their lives based on how Trump feels at any particular moment! Tariffs on, Tariffs off, 25%, no 10%, no 250%. Who the f..k knows what to do? The article is nothing more than click-bait. However, the premise of the article is sound i.e. Trump isn't the only target; neither is Musk. The target is the ENTIRE Republican establishment. All of Trump's enablers that protest LOUDLY but in private need to be attacked and exposed for the cowards that they are. While a response can be coordinated at the national level, the assaults must come from the state and district level. Not only must every democratic candidate, federal/state/muni must be adept at talking about local issues, they must be adept at discussing how Trump's policies adversely affect those issues and that their opposition candidate sits quietly by and lets Trump and national republicans torch their way of life.

Shouldn't the muscle mass advantage disappear over time as the amount of male hormones decrease and female hormones increase? And, since muscle weighs more than fat, shouldn't the weight advantage also disappear with time?

There should be no problem with trans people participating in any sport as long as the transition is complete AND their hormone levels are within the "normal" range for their new gender.

All of this opposition from Republicans aren't going to do them much good if their constituents don't know about it. They need to be loud and public so that their constituents know that their "champion" is fighting for them.

How are businesses supposed to plan with these on and off tariffs? Trump is trying to run the country like he ran his small business where only a few hundred people may be impacted by his mood swings. Now there are tens, maybe even hundreds of millions of people impacted. He wants to set the tone of how the country is run and will accept credit if something good happens and casts blame to someone else if something bad happens.

This is a good move by France because the only thing Russia has going for it militarily is nukes. Russia has to know that they aren't the only "crazy" people in Europe. Actually, while it was necessary to publicly state France's position, anyone with half a brain knew that this was likely to be France's position.

Russia has its hands full just fighting Ukraine. Therefore, I have no doubt that Russia would be defeated by NATO (even without the aid of the US) using non nukes but the price paid by all participants would be DEVASTATING. The primary question that the European NATO fighters would face would be: just how far do we prosecute the war? They would have to take it just to the point of posing an existential threat to the survival of Russia because that is when the nukes start flying.

It's time for them to be loud but (a) there isn't much they can do and (b) they need to let America get what it voted for while saying "We told you so."

Dems need to be loud but in the right way. Bad mouthing Trump/Musk is not enough. They must expose all of the pain and suffering that is taking place. Put faces to the pain. Identify people that regret their votes and would not vote for Trump again.

Dems also need to attack republicans for sitting idly by while the sh.. hits the fan. There can be NO friendships with republicans that only voice their disapproval in private. To much is at stake.
