Donald Trump has portrayed his immigration policies as good for public safety. He said this month that he had the "safest" immigration policy in history. However, data obtained by the Cato Institute through the Freedom of Information Act challenges this narrative. The newly uncovered information shows that while the Trump administration (2017"2020) was prioritizing prosecutions of migrant parents, separating families, and banning asylum, it also released criminals, including those who went on to commit crimes. read more

As for Trump's remark about Cheney, it did sound to me at first like he was talking about putting her in front of a firing squad. After hearing it a few more times and researching how many people are usually in a firing squad (was that the reason he used the number 9?), I came to the conclusion that's not literally what he was was referring to. Having said that, I still have a problem with the implied violence in his statement (shooting her in the face), especially because of other comments he has made in recent months (suggesting General Mark Miley deserves execution, giving a thummbs up to military tribunals for his political opponents). I tried to explain all that in my previous posts. The only thing I forgot to cite was Trump's remarks about Miley:
Trump and GOP Rep. Gosar suggest Joint Chiefs boss Mark Milley deserves death

With an apostrophe the key sentence doesn't even make sense. Also, I am much more inclined to take the stenographer's interpretation because they are trained to accurately transcribe.

Adding the apostrophe changes the other punctuation:
WH transcript shows Joe Biden called Tony Hinchcliffe "garbage" language:drudge.com
And just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage." Well, let me tell you something. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter's--his--his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American. "Supporters, versus supporter's"
Exactly because if you read it as supporters then it read like this, which makes no sense grammatically:
And just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage." Well, let me tell you something. I don't-- I--I don't know the Puerto Rican that--that I know--or a Puerto Rico, where I'm fr--in my home state of Delaware, they're good, decent, honorable people. The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters--his--his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American. It's totally contrary to everything we've done, everything we've been.
If you do want to pretend Biden was talking about all Trump supporters, then Trump is the one who is demonizing Latinos and, althoughtit makes no sense grammatically, his supporters are garbage because they are on board with it. If Biden had meant all of Trump's supporters, he would have said:
And just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage." Well, let me tell you something. I don't-- I--I don't know the Puerto Rican that--that I know--or a Puerto Rico, where I'm fr--in my home state of Delaware, they're good, decent, honorable people. Those stenographers should have noticed their mistake when they realized that Biden used the singular possessive pronoun"his". If he had been referring to Trump supporters plural, rather than a singular supporter (the comedian), he would have said their, not his.

All of this can be true as well as simply admitting it's really bad for a presidential candidate to ask the population to imagine the violent death of his political opponent.

I agree! It was also legitimately bad when Trump suggested Cheney be put in front of a televised military tribunal. His actual policy proposals for American democracy are even worse.
All of which is all the more reason to avoid crying wolf.

Actually, I did say that the outrage about Biden's "garbage" comment was absurd.
We're nearing an election, people's emotions are high, and they're making mountains of molehills when the real stakes are Trump's terrible policy ideas
What's the point of putting Cheney and others before televised military tribunals?:
