"Health care reform's going to be a big part of the agenda. When I say we're going to have a very aggressive first 100 days agenda, we got a lot of things still on the table," Johnson, R-La., said in Bethlehem while campaigning for GOP House candidate Ryan Mackenzie, according to video footage obtained by NBC News.

"No Obamacare?" one attendee asked Johnson, referring to the law Democrats passed in 2010, also known as the Affordable Care Act.

"No Obamacare," Johnson responded, rolling his eyes. "The ACA is so deeply ingrained, we need massive reform to make this work and we got a lot of ideas on how to do that."

Killing ObamaCare is not just a goal of Spkr Johnson.

It is a goal of the GOP.

The question is why?

The GOP used to be quite in favor of the concepts of ACA.

Why?

Because the GOP seemed to be in favor of reducing medical costs.

But then, wealthy private equity entered into the medical industry and profit seems to have become the goal, not patient outcome ...

So, a person visiting the emergency room?

Yeah, we (the GOP) don't want to pay for that.

They did not seem to like the additional cost they were assessed with because of those who went to the hospital for treatment, and might die if they die not get the treatment they could not afford. So, hospitals spread that cost of treatment across all other patients. And the GOP seems to object.

Now that hospitals seem to be run by private equity for profit, the equations has changed.

Pay or die, now seems to be the focus of the Republicans.

The GQP originally calling ACA Obamacare but then millions signed up and they like so now they've created a monster that people love named after that black guy who always outsmarted them and who they still hate because if it.

Doesn't Johnson have a barrel to jump into?

Hilarious. Even Trump and Johnson can't agree on how to frame the health care debate. They only know they hate Obamacare because it's popular now. So predictable. No solutions, just hate.

To coherently talk about a subject, one first has to have
a working knowledge about the subject. And I'm guessing,
like the rest of the MAGA GOP, Johnson has little to no
idea what is actually in Obamacare. He is just doing what
modern-day GOP do, fling red meat and a room full of hot air
and empty promises at both the cameras and their idiot followers
and adherents. They 'talk a vicious talk', but they can't
'walk any kind of walk' outside of just trashing a policy leaving
destruction in their wake.

Republicans hate Obamacare because it reninds everyone who actually created the biggest reform in the healthcare industry since Medicare was passed by Lynden in1965 and Johnso's track record on leading the House as well as Republican's promises t o "repeal and replace" have been so hollow that it is unlikely his stupid threat won't result in any changes; I believe Trump also was going to replace it but never even proposed anything. Americans should probably stop calling it Obamacare and the Republicans would forget their opposition to it.

They won't forget. They want to ensure that their rich donors don't have to wait in hospital emergency rooms if they've got a hangnail because a poor person is having a heart attack.

And yes, they've made it clear that they also want to repeal EMTALA.

#9 | Posted by DarkVader at 2024-10-31 08:16 AM | Reply

All this talk of 'repeal and replace' and putting forth something much better than the ACA has gone nowhere for more than eight years. It is long past the point of 'put up or shut up'. As of now, the GOP simply wants to deny healthcare to millions of poor and moderate income Americans, including millions of their supporters. Here in Okiehomie hundreds of thousands are on either Medicaid or the ACA. In Ohio, it is well known (and even said by Gov. DeWine-R) that enhancing Medicaid helped deliver treatment to thousands of drug addicts.

What Johnson, as a Trump surrogate, is saying is that fewer will get healthcare and thousands more drug addicts will wander the street. Thanks, Dotard!

And I say do it.

It's past time the American people get what they keep voting for and get it good and hard.

Teamsters won't endorse? Fine. Let Trump kill the union.
Blue Collar wants to support Trump? Great. Goodbye Healthcare after killing Obamacare, Goodbye Jobs after the Tariffs and Enjoy the Low Wages/Lack of Overtime Pay.
Boomers want to support Trump? Fantastic. Social Security and Medicare cuts.
Religious Right wants Trump? Great. Enjoy those teen pregnancies and falling rates of young believers.
Florida wants Trump? Enjoy rebuilding on your own after hurricanes because the illegal immigrants are gone and FEMA/SBA are decimated.
Small Business Owners want to support Trump? Fantastic. Good luck finding workers after he deports everyone and enjoy big business squashing you with Trump's approval.
Rural Voters? Goodbye government pay for your roads, emergency services, schools and utilities. Goodbye public assistance.
First Time Homebuyers? Sucks for you as Trump let's Wall Street continue to buy up homes and raise prices for everyone. Enjoy renting forever as artificially high prices Trump wants to protect.
Just a typical family working hard to take care of their kids? No more child tax credits. Enjoy the tax hikes and rising cost of literally everything you need to survive.
Arab Americans sitting out the election because Biden/Harris aren't tough enough on Israel? Fantastic. Watch Trump double down on Israel's war.

Harris was too stupid to focus on progressive causes that voters support by wide margins. She moved right rather than giving voters any reason to support her other than being "Not Trump" and pro-Choice.

I hope Trump wins and does everything he claimed he wanted to do so Americans can feel the consequences of what they support.

Hans is running around spewing this accusation....I thought it might be appropriate for the accusation to be levied where it's truly earned.

Like right there with that post.

"Flag: Clearly hates America and wants to see it fail"

Flag: America will get the government they vote for.

It's just too bad we have gotten to a place and time where half of Americans have no clue what to ask for and are being manipulated by AI and by powerful forces beyond their control or comprehension.

Sycophant is clearly not hoping for America to fail. He is telling us how it can and WILL fail if Trump and his CULTISTS ever get their way.

Oh yea of little faith!! I suppose you actually think all Americans really are just "garbage" in a "garbage can country" like Trumpy says. Personally I would never bet against America.

I've been alive since Reagan was in office. Not one other president from either side has had ideas this insane. Sure, baby Bush had a huge recession but he didn't directly cause it so much as let it happen. And just that led to 8 years of Obama and Obamacare being passed.

And you are not understanding ONE key aspect here: Former presidents weren't insane and listened to their advisors. Trump doesn't.

The only hope for the American public is Trump's absolute laziness to get anything done.

Not nearly this bad.

Remember John McCain saved Obamacare and likely Trump's chances of getting into office again. They were that close to just blowing up healthcare in this country.

And the economy isn't nearly as robust now as it was coming off the Obama years. We didn't have nearly the debt load. And we didn't have RFK Jr and Elon Musk taking key positions.

Trump has also gotten rid of all the sane people in the room.

The reality as always is the opposite of Dem MSM or DR "news". An unexpected election win by Kamala will crush any vestige of optimism and kill the economy. Only the expected win by Trump by the markets has been providimg some stability. The win of another unaccomplished unelected fool such as Kamala will kill all optimism the stock market amd economy amd hope.

Im only a small potato considering some new spending but it wont happen until election over and we have new leadership and optimism. People do not realize just how stressed the economy actually is with average people in significant debt and on the margin.

You're living in bizzarro world.

I shake my head at how someone can project so vividly while ignoring the reality most of us live in.

The S&P 500 Has Roared by 47 Record Highs in 2024.

The S&P 500 has advanced 23% year to date, notching 47 record highs in the process. That upside comes from excitement about artificial intelligence stocks, falling interest rates, and the potential stimulus holiday spending could provide for the economy.

Not one word about the presidential race whatsoever. But there was this about Trump's chief economic policy he ignorantly talks about without understanding what it would do to our economy.
Companies ready price hikes to offset Trump's global tariff plans

Producers of a range of items, including clothing, footwear, baby products, auto parts and hardware, say they will pass along the cost of the tariffs to their American customers.

The planned price increases next year would come as consumers are beginning to enjoy relief from the highest inflation in four decades, and they directly contradict Trump's repeated assurances that foreigners will pay the tariff tab.

"It just hurts the consumer. Straight up. Ten times out of 10," he said. "Exporting countries do not pay the tariffs. It's just that simple."

LOL ~ weak sauce.

Kamala will benefit from Joe Biden's tutorage and continue the policies that have made America's post-covid economy the envy of the world.

And why? Because every four years, James Carvell's advice rings true. "It's the economy, stupid" that gets smart people elected.

#32 | Posted by Twinpac at 2024-10-31 07:18 PM | Reply

The economy of the USA is the best in the world . We also recovered from Covid faster than any other country stocks are raging, record highs. Gas is 2.68 by me right now. Inflation has finally cooled and we achieved a soft landing. I'm personally way better off than I was four years ago. More money in the bank, happier, healthier.

The traitor, if elected ... Would crater the economy for all but the rich. He's trying to destroy the country from within for his buddy Putin. How blind are people?

He will be toast in a few days anyway. Landslide as I've said for three months. So no worries everyone, by this time next year he will be where he needs to be but he will not be in the White House.
