No matter where he goes, I wish I trusted my government a little more, and feared WWIII a little less, then there is human caused global warming. Trump laughs at the idea of the Earth warming to deadly levels.

He is good at hurting America and Americans, and of course, the grift thing, but where has he helped Americans, especially those at the bottom of the economic pyramid? So many voted for him, and are getting kicked in the teeth when they try to work out their Social Security or Medicare.

Ultimately, war is the enemy, not each other. If we had a rational world wide legal system, a war of aggression would result in the trials of those who pursued the war.
As it is, I am amazed the US in not in a full on shooting war, considering that would make Trump a war time President and set him up for the mid terms to keep having a suck up Congress.

But bankrupting the government is exactly what Citizens United was designed to do, put the employees of rich people into office, to take from the poor to give to the rich, and when finally the country is bankrupted, then the Republican Party can finally destroy what FDR left...a social safety net that saved the lives of millions.

I am the same age as Trump, and really, really fear what is coming up until the midterms. I know what he is doing, letting out those demons held inside for so many decades, now he can ramble as much as he wants, total word salad, and his people don't care. He can wreck our economy, and this new bill might do that, and his people don't care.
They don't care, apparently, because they themselves don't care about America, they care about being entertained as those who watch pro wrestling are entertained.
We are so screwed.

I am an old man who, truth be told, has as his next upcoming life event...struggle, sickness and death. It is a painful realization but such is life. What people in many other developed nations don't have to deal with, is living without national health care.
We are a stupid people doing stupid things...ignoring the lives of the very poor and sick to pay all the attention and help, to enrich the rich.

Truth be told, I do pay attention to what Vance has said, is saying. Not because I think he is a good influence for my country, but because he is a, perhaps, the, voice of the radical right that has aligned with the insane right part of America's churches and who is quite possibly being groomed to be Trump's successor.
Fascism aligned with the Catholic Church...a fearful thing. One wonders just what the present day Pope will have to say on the matter.
Cannot be too cynical in the time of Trump, the people of Russia thought they had a democracy, but instead woke to find they lived in a dictatorship.

I suspect there will be many reminders of that comment, especially when this hurricane season brings death and destruction to Florida and the entire Gulf of Mexico coast.

Remember when w said he was the candidate for the "c" students? Not sure who Trump is the candidate for, traditionally, the Republican Party candidate for President hopes to win by combining the hate of American racial animus combined with the greed of the rich and the...powerful.

I am old and tired, and am scared of death, of course, but I do understand that I may be quite lucky to not have to live through the 2030's. With no safety net, and corporate boardrooms holding life and death power over the poor who need jobs but cannot afford to fight for jobs with those living in Vietnam, or China, or India...

I do mourn her death, and remember her contributions to a wonderful show. It was a time of great tv, great actors, and of course, as now, a time of great national division.

Chaos and division work to the benefit of Putin and China's CCP general secretary Xi and to Trump and his team of grifters, of course.

If fascist dictators like Putin have to be fought against...maybe the people of the world will then work to get to war criminal trials at The Hague for the other dictators and dictator wannabes who support apartheid like Trump...

So many of those in uniform that day will know what is happening, that they are being used by our fascist in chief to have everyone applaud and laud Trump...not them.
But when a war hits, when it comes to our shores, how many of the Trump gang will sign on the dotted line and put on a uniform?

And the carnage continues.

The fact that he is Commander in Chief and the leader of one of the two major political parties, should give one pause after his latest ramblings. He and I are the same age, and if I go off on a tangent...just another old man lost in his thoughts.
But I am not President of the United States. I have absolutely no doubt at all that the Republican Party is not up to the task of keeping Trump from harming our economy, our children, our unity...

And Trump and his family are grifting all over the Middle East, so of course, they could just walk away from a destroyed American economy and live like the inherited wealth royalty they are, in new world Earth where country boundaries keep the poor out, but not the rich.

Still, say what you will about Trump losing in the courts, it still means it all is about him, and I am quite sure he is fine with losing as long as it keeps him with all the attention. He is an awful man ruining our land, for his ego and of course, for the grift.
Greatest American grifter ever...criminal sure, Unconstitutional, sure...but in a narcissistic dark hearted way, he is what Nixon wanted to be...on top of the world screwing over everyone.

He has watched Netanyahu run Israel as the law was his heels, and Trump clearly figures he can do the same, as long as he can somehow get a south of the border Hamas like attack on the US...
War is the enemy, not each other, we need international laws that strongly penalize those who wage wars of aggression.
Problem is, the US would rather international nuclear war break out rather than international peace break out.

Let's be honest for a minute or so...AI is profitable, is seen as being the way to eliminate the America workers so that the investor class can make even more money, so soon, doctors, lawyers, teachers, truck drivers, taxi drivers, all will face impossible competition from AI and will lose a lot of their ability to work in America.
AI doesn't need to intimidate, the big boys of cutthroat capitalism are on it, are the ones behind American manufacturing running away to China or Vietnam, just research "Nixon opening China to the West".

Good. We now live mostly in a digital world, and getting change with pennies is really and truly dumb.

Children who were raised in wildly dysfunctional families recognize the problem. When the person in charge is an insane, narcissist who demands that everything be about them, that all bend a knee to their mutterings...then one nods, one keeps one's thoughts private, and one moves a thousand miles away, and finds a very good therapist.
America will never get the help it needs because...Republicans. They really are in thrall to the inherited wealth royalty, who demand that the poor suffer and lose whatever safety net they might have.

How does one appeal for reason and logic from an insane, narcissistic leader who is wandering around the world muttering? He isn't famous for listening to anyone, though last term his Chief of Staff, John Kelly, and his Secretary of Defense Mattis were able to distract him as one would distract a little child.

War is in charge of us, we don't seem to be charge of our country and its ability to feed and house and heal the sick and poor.
