For years America has muddled its way through an innumerable amount of pronouns and confusion over sexual identity as elites strove to push the boundaries on what it means to be a man, woman, or "they." Terms like "trad wife," "cismale/cisfemale" and "alpha male" became not just daily words introduced to a confused society, but slurs, intimating that whoever identified as the aforementioned, was a backward troglodyte who wanted everyone to transport back to the 1950s.

Make sure that you're receiving the signals they send

Pres-elect Trump dislikes reporters who strive to report the facts of what is happening.

Trump Says Police Violence Against Journalists Is Actually A Beautiful Sight' (2020)
www.forbes.com

... During a rally in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, President Trump took his "law and order" message a step further, not only applauding harsh law enforcement treatment of protesters, but of journalists as well. ...

As he often does at rallies, Trump described the state of America's cities in dystopian terms, waxing on at length on ways he claimed protesters have attacked law enforcement -- such as throwing "rocks and cans of tuna fish" -- and mocking the use of the label "police brutality" for retaliation by police.

Trump praised the involvement of National Guard troops in quelling violent protests in Minneapolis, asserting "Minneapolis was cured" after the Guard was deployed.

But Trump also applauded acts of excessive violence by "big, strong" police while narrating them in detail, describing an instance in which, "they grabbed them, they grabbed them, they were grabbing them left and right."

"Sometimes they grab one guy, I'm a reporter! I'm a reporter!" Trump said gleefully, aggressively pantomiming a Guardsman throwing aside the reporter and shouting "get out of here," adding, "they threw him aside like he was a little bag of popcorn."

Trump said "you don't want to do that," but described such instances as "actually a beautiful sight" because of the "crap we've all had to take for so long," mocking reporters for using the term "peaceful protest" to describe protests featuring looting and property damage.

Trump also mocked MSNBC host Ali Velshi " a common target of his aspersions " for getting hit in the knee with a rubber bullet while covering a protest, incorrectly claiming he "got hit in the knee with tear gas and he went down," and mockingly shouting "I got hit! I got hit!"

Pokin Around: I don't expect answer, but: Why does this Walmart keep condoms locked up? (2020)
www.news-leader.com

... I'm going to call this a "Pokin Around" column not because my name is "Pokin" and the subject matter is condoms. I would never stoop so low.

Instead, I'm going to call it "Pokin Around" because I don't want to label it an "Answer Man." I doubt I'm going to get an answer.

At least not in this decade.

A reader, who will remain unnamed, told me he recently went condom-shopping and for the first time did so at the Walmart Supercenter at 2021 E. Independence St. in Springfield.

He was stunned by the store's condom protocol, if there is such a thing.

He found what he was looking for, but it was in a locked display. He had never seen such security, such protection.

To make his purchase, he had to flag down a store employee to open the display. He found this rather awkward.

And then, he was told he was not allowed to carry the condoms with him as he continued his shopping " he had to immediately pay for them at the pharmacy or drop them off there and pay when he was ready to check out.

This seemed very odd to him.

It seems odd to me. ...

Neither of us feel interested': More Americans don't want kids, and it's not just because of the money (August 2024)
www.cnbc.com

... Growing up in rural Michigan, Nina Job got familiar with peers and people in her community following a "traditional trajectory." That meant "you go to college, you get married, you have 2.5 kids, you know -- happy home, white picket fence type-thing," she tells CNBC Make It.

But moving to New York gave her a new perspective: "I remember being 20 and so surprised to meet single people much older than what I was used to ever seeing back home who were happy."

The varied domestic situations she encountered "opened my eyes to the possibility of so many different lifestyles, and just non-traditional family setups," the now-36-year-old says.

Now, Job is among the growing number of Americans who are choosing to live a child-free life. The U.S. fertility rate fell to a record low of around 1.6 births per woman in 2023, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. ...

More from the article...

... Earlier this week, on the same day Meta ditched its DEI programs, the CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, went on the "Joe Rogan Experience" to praise the benefits of "masculine energy" and called corporate America "culturally neutered."

This from the man whom, up until recently, no one would have considered to be the manliest of men, even when he started martial arts training and posting pics of himself giving beatdowns on social media.

But is it a surprise that the archetype nerd is now cultivating an uber-macho persona? ...

Facial masculinity surgery on the rise: Beverly Hills plastic surgeon

According to Beverly Hills plastic surgeons -- the ones who see trends on the ground, in real life -- say no and that he's not alone -- pointing to the rise of Facial Masculinity Surgery (FMS) as proof.

"The (physical) focus now (for men) is on structure and chiseling," Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Arash Moradzadeh, who runs AM Facial Plastics said. "Men want to look more manly now. It's much easier and culturally more acceptable for men to get surgery to achieve the look they desire. And the male aesthetic (now) is to be more masculine. No puffy cheeks or inflated cheeks. We want definition."

Since the onset of the #MeToo movement, the macho man has been snubbed in everything but action movies. Instead, the trends were devoted to "soft boys" -- young, skinny, clean-shaven, gentle and "emotionally intelligent" men like Harry Styles, Cole Sprouser, Luka Shabbat and the most popular of them all, Timothee Chalamet. Men who would sometimes wear dresses, put their heart on their sleeves and often look like they'd ask you to pay half of the dinner bill. Movies like "Call Me by Your Name" starring Chalamet, "Close" and tv shows like "Riverdale" were lauded and reproduced ... until the rise of "Yellowstone."

And the election of Donald Trump.

And even Taylor Swift's well-publicized romance with Travis Kelce.

Suddenly, the Hollywood jawline (and soon after, the American male jawline) started becoming cleaner, firmer ... more masculine as the Manly Movement took hold.

Stars like John Mullaney, Chris Rock and Bad Bunny started walking around with lantern jaws straight out of "American Dad' and regular people (not on-screen actors) started calling their surgeons. ...
