"This resolution does not involve an admission of liability or wrongdoing by any of the Parties. I am satisfied with and have no grievances relating to the result we have reached. The statement does not reveal how " or how much of " the huge damages amount will be satisfied. Giuliani had complained throughout the case that he's been having trouble making ends meet, and had declared bankruptcy after getting hit with the verdict. A judge dismissed the bankruptcy case last year. "No one deserves to be subjected to threats, harassment, or intimidation. This litigation has taken its toll on all parties. Maybe that is why he agreed to this settlement?

His public retraction of the defamation comments should have been an essential ingredient of any settlement. That is wasn't is a disappointment.

The question is WHO is putting up the money to cover his liability in the case?
Is it Trump?

He was fighting like hell to hang onto that Super Bowl. Ring. Why does a mayor get a Super Bowl ring? Or a sky box? Or any of those other perks. So the politicians that enjoy this VIP treatment will vote to hand them millions in incentives, tax breaks and cash to build new stadiums that most taxpayers can't afford to visit. All so Mayor A can call Mayor B and boast that "my boys beat your boys", and proudly wear a Super Bowl ring.

As to the settlement, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I don't blame these women for settling for what is likely a significantly reduced amount of sure cash now vs years of appeals and uncertainty.

How is it justified that 2 election workers would get paid $150 M for claims of defamation. What specific financial harm have they suffered? Isn't this excessive arbitraty punishment to Giuliani.
