"More like Jesus" can be ambiguous in meaning. If someone's goal is to "be like Jesus" in the sense of seeking perfection or authority, it could indeed border on arrogance.
If the goal is to emulate virtues such as love, humility, and forgiveness rather than equating oneself with God, that is worthwhile.
However, love, forgiveness, and humility aren't necessarily exclusive to Christianity, as many faiths express those virtues. Even the heathen might believe in these human qualities.
Personally, I think that if you want a goal as a Christian, it should be pursuing a path of spiritual growth and a deepening trust in God.
To be "more like Jesus" means believing that without Him you cannot truly achieve spiritual fulfillment.
It's not just about adopting virtues or certain behaviors, but about surrendering to His grace and growing in faith.
The goal isn't self-improvement in a worldly sense, but a transformation that comes from reliance on Him and finding that your true strength comes not from your own efforts but through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Zed,
"When you talk with Jesus one day, expect Him to mention this to you."
I'm saved....are you?
