When Me and a pastor and his unit supervisor went to notify his wife, she opened the door and said "Oh, that's why he isn't answering the phone."

One of the toughest notifications I ever had to make.

One of my soldiers died riding a motorcycle. I didn't see Obama at his funeral.
One of my soldiers died at a training accident at FT. Gordon. I didn't see Bush at his funeral.
Two of my soldiers died in an AH-60 accident in Afghanistan. I didn't see Obama there when I and the entire brigade command escorted the bodies back to Dover.

And they damn sure wasn't there when we had to notify the families of their deaths.

And I would like it if you would rehire the Inspectors General whose job it was to point out problems like that to Congress. Whose job it is to perform oversight on federal agencies.

DOGE discovered that the VA was previously paying ~$380,000/month for minor website modifications. That contract has not been renewed, and the same work is now being executed by 1 internal VA software engineer spending ~10 hours/week.
I understand the media likes to get everyone riled up by harping on Social Security and snap benefits, and scaring people into thinking those are going to be taken away. But let's be clear, a lot of the waste they have found so far hasn't been nefarious. Such as severance payments still being paid to someone who passed away. Elon compared it to leaving the money faucet running. So not everything they're uncovering is criminal behavior, it's simply something that's been overlooked, bad decision making or lack of transparency.
