What you have to understand about Pete Hegseth copying and pasting war plans into Signal is that it almost certainly means he's got classified documents on his personal UNSECURE devices. Signal isn't on a secure device ... are our war plans on his personal devices? @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social

Stinky Pete and his stupid pals probably thought it was coolio to text away to each other about this matter, almost like a bunch of 15-year olds who stole some beer and each drank one. I'll wager it nearly certain our Russian friends heard all about the plans, since all on that chat were targets of Russian signals intelligence. The Russkies were probably laughing about how easy it was to get sensitive intel from these American dopes who just about added Vlad the all-seeing to the chat room.

The saddest thing about this matter is that no heads will roll, and the cowardly lions in Congress will do nearly nothing to investigate this breach of national security...

Proving every day what an embarrassment this administration is. Hegseth trying to shift the blame to the journalist takes the cake. Of course Trump says he didn't know about it, but he didn't mind piling on against the publication that exposed the truth.

I don't blame Hegseth. He was never qualified for the job anyway. I do blame Trump and all of the Senators who voted to confirm the clown.

WASHINGTON: Amid the outcry over the leaking of top-secret war plans, on Monday millions of Americans called for a breathalyzer to be attached to Pete Hegseth's phone.

In an emotional apology at the Pentagon, Hegseth said that someone in his position "should never drink and text, and so I am giving up texting."

According to national security experts, a journalist was given access to highly sensitive war plans that are normally available only to people using a public bathroom at Mar-a-Lago.

And to think that they're going through all this just to enable a continuing genocide. No genocide, no Houthis targeting shipping, no bombing of Yemen, no need to discuss bombing plans in an unclassified manner. It's quite easy to figure out.

So again, it all comes back to Israel, America's bestest friend ever.

So Much Winning!

A Pentagon-wide email recently went out warning about Signal's vulnerability

A Pentagon-wide advisory went out one week ago warning against using the messaging app Signal, even for unclassified information.

"A vulnerability has been identified in the Signal messenger application," begins the department-wide email, dated March 18, obtained by NPR.

The memo continues, "Russian professional hacking groups are employing the 'linked devices' features to spy on encrypted conversations." It notes that Google has identified Russian hacking groups who are "targeting Signal Messenger to spy on persons of interest."

Only by people who want to deny that war plans were shared.

www.theatlantic.com
The world found out shortly before 2 p.m. eastern time on March 15 that the United States was bombing Houthi targets across Yemen.

I, however, knew two hours before the first bombs exploded that the attack might be coming. The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.

The story is, of course, much worse if Goldberg is telling the truth (either he or Hegseth is lying; there's no middle ground). But even if that part of the story isn't true, there is hardly a more sensitive fact that we need to keep secret than that senior American policymakers are discussing a surprise military strike. You carefully guard that discussion, whether or not it includes coordinates, targets, methods, or strike times. This leaves me asking once again the Casey Stengel refrain: Can't anybody here play this game?
