NPR this morning reported that BiBi has only his war to hold his political position. If/when the hostilities end, he will be back in court to face criminal charges. Meanwhile, the IDF reports its soldiers are weary from the constant deployment and battles. As for the Palestinians, they should be seen like the Viet Cong. As Captain Willard stated in Apocalypse Now:

"Charlie had only two ways home: death, or victory."

Gaza may become the Riviera of the Middle East, but the Arab States are who will build it. The IDF will never get the Palestinians out of Gaza. Never. The wealth of the Arab States and the hatred of the Israelis by the Arab population will not countenance such an outcome...

Just a preview of the 2026 mid-term elections (if those are even held). Voters in rural counties will be forced to go to one polling place for the entire county, at some place not even in the county seat, but as far from as many Dem voters as possible. In the 2024 election the wife and I stood in line for four hours to vote early here in Okiehomie County because the county, population 800,000, had only two locations for early voting, and each location was available for only five days each. How do you spell voter suppression?

The graphs and chart illustrate a warning and a problem.

The problem is that 70% of survey respondents are calling for no economic growth in the next year, or a recession. Low or negative expectations result in lower business investment and hiring. Remember those fired government employees? They could be idle for a long time.

The warning is that business leaders now see the economy as being worse than in Biden's final year in office. If the average person on the street is told that the economy is bad because of the last administration and that the new administration is making a bad situation worse, those people will start to worry and slow their spending. That anchor on the economy's progress will probably pull the economy into recession. This year ...

There are four scenarios possible here:
-El Rey Dotardo II signed the document and is now lying about it
-he signed it but didn't know or realize what he signed
-auto-sign was used at his direction, blowing up his threat to try to revoke pardons from Diamond Joe
-auto-sign was used without his permission, meaning there is a rogue operative in the WH

None of these scenarios are good for the fat orange criminal insurrectionist and golf cheat, and for all Americans ...

TSLA closed today, March 21, at $248.71, which is a bit of a rally for the week, but still down 38.4% YTD. 131MM shares traded today, and much of that is either because of the end of the quarterly 'triple witching' hour when futures, options and other derivative contracts expire, or purchases from the stupid money. Granted, TSLA has performed well over the past two years, but many buyers are trying to catch a falling knife. Comments about the company's financial statements by the Financial Times, and concerns about world-wide sales drops will cause long-lasting problems with the share price. TSLA has burned down a portion of its finished goods inventory, but that came from discounting. 2025Q1 sales are projected to be down 11% from the most recent quarter, and non-fanboy investors will notice. More pain may be on the way...

Based on the assumption that there will be elections in 2026 and 2028, this behavior will continue on a daily basis from now until after the next president (and I ain't talkin' anyone with the name "Trump") is sworn in. I suspect that Jimmy McGill would have made a fortune as counsel for the MAGA crowd, were he available to practice his brand of law...

Skilled negotiators recognize that sometimes an agreement satisfactory to both sides cannot be reached. In multi-lateral negotiations, its even harder to reach agreement. In this case, all El Rey Dotardo II cares about is 'making a deal'. Whether that 'deal' satisfies all parties is secondary. In the case of the Ukraine war, some on the right now treat it as a tar baby, to which we're stuck. The key to getting Russia to make a real agreement that will satisfy all parties is to continue to arm and support Ukraine, and even so, the war will grind on for some time. Russia will eventually quit this stalemate (see also, Afghanistan) and between now and then will be preoccupied with the war to the point where it cannot create much mischief elsewhere in the world.

The sticking points will be (1) Ukraine joining NATO (um, hello--they are already a de facto member--note the weaponry) and (2) Russia giving back Crimea and the children kidnapped from Ukraine. It may be that Z will have to give up on #1, in exchange for #2, and building a much bigger war machine for the future...

Hey there, Scotty: All this talk about waste, fraud and abuse leads one to wonder (1) what are the names and locations of all the fraudsters who have been identified by the Muskrats, and have criminal charges been filed against any of these miscreants? (2) How come on one has pulled aside our putative king, and asked him, in the name of government efficiency, to pay for his own golf game travel and security? Recall that he's 'really, really rich', and (3) is having world-class weather prediction, air traffic control, or the ability to identify and counteract a pandemic your idea of 'waste, fraud and abuse'? Asking for a country...

Heroin Bob and his junkie cohort at HHS want bird flu to run rampant, so as to identify the survivor Super Chickens. Of course, that's a USDA call, and he with the dilated pupils doesn't run the USDA--yet. Imagine a country where highly infectious disease runs rampant, causing the annihilation of a major portion of the business of agriculture, and a major food source for millions. Most Americans would be very concerned, and would expect their government to act, so as to prevent this scourge from arriving in the US. Wake up--the scourge is here and those in government are actively abetting its spread...

Starting in a few weeks, every recipient of SS benefits will have to come off the farm, drive 60-80 miles into town, take a number, ger a hotel room and come back to the SS office a day or so later, just to present an ID that shows they exist and should continue to receive their benefits. Those of us nearing retirement age and the time to draw SS benefits will be lucky to get back what we put in, on a present value basis.

IF there is an election in 2026, every MAGA pol will have a very large target on their backs.

Perhaps the best thing that can come of this disaster is that folks in Congress might screw up their collective courage and put through REAL SS reform, to include higher payments into the system, longer time before qualifying for full benefits, and means testing for the richest citizens. That will probably happen AFTER Vlad and Z shake hands on a real conclusion to the War of Russian Aggression...
