""The city is wrong," according to Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who wrote the dissenting opinion, which was joined by the three Democratic justices, Sotomayor, Kagan and Jackson. "The relevant provision of the Clean Water Act directs EPA to impose any more stringent limitation that is necessary to meet ... or required to implement any applicable water quality standard."
I questiion the scientific basis that the right wing ideologues based their decision on and that last sentence of the dissenting opinion or the actual meaning of the law which makes it clear that the Act definitely that the EPA is directed by the Act "to impose any more stringent limitation that is necessary to meet ... or required to implement any applicable water quality standard."
As these crazy right wing Justices seem prone to, they ignore any parts of laws that they want without a real legal basis. But it's not the first time that their own own political ideology won out over laws passed by Congress which have been in place for decades,
"Just pointing out that it kinda sucks for the Canadian people."
Unlike MAGAs Canadians are capable of understanding who provoked this response.
