Platner is, as the kids say, cooked. He should drop out immediately so the party can officially start the business of selecting a replacement. My recommendation, Troy Jackson. He doesn't have the charisma of Platner but he's a known quantity in Maine politics having served in multiple terms in both the state house and senate. His politics are similar to Platner's so much so that they endorsed each other when Jackson was running for the Democratic primary nomination for governor in the recent election. He lost that one but it was a strange election with Jackson being one of 4 candidates to receive at least 20% of the first place votes in what was a ranked choice election.

I choose to be skeptical of allegations proffered with no actual evidence.

There is evidence. There are communications with her therapist. There are texts and social media posts that supports her claim.

"They are going to find more about the controversies that already follow him such as that nazi tattoo, his views on police, abuse victims, women, lies told about his military service and who knows what else he has hidden. They will find all the dumb stuff he has said on the internet and he's going to spend much of his campaign apologizing and blaming it on PTSD. I won't be surprised to see allegations of domestic abuse and sexual assault surface. GOP voters have shown they are willing to overlook horrible behavior, criminal even, but we are going to end up learning things about Platner that is going to result in a lot of democrats turning their backs on him.

This is nothing but a meaningless stunt by Trump. He pulled the same stunt with the DHS funding bill several months back. His signature is not required. This bill goes into effect on July 4 even if he does not sign it.

He could veto it but but he'd have to convince something like 20 GOP senators to change their vote in order for his veto to withstand challenge.
The only other way to stop it would be for both chambers to be in formal recess so the bill would be subject to pocket veto. The Senate has long had a formal recess scheduled from June 29 to July but the House does not.
This bill had overwhelming bipartisan support in both chambers so it is already unlikely that House Republicans will now attempt to call a formal recess but even if Trump could successfully pressure them to do so, the Senate has to approve a formal House recess and they would not do that.

This is what real government censorship looks like. I'm surprised Bellringer hasn't already posted to criticize the Trump administration for using illegal arrests to silence critics.

The Supreme Court and Republican lawmakers all knew this would be the result of their anti-choice policies. The GOP also knows people will die as a result of them stripping away the ACA subsidies. They don't care.

The Feds are arresting people for taking some peel paint while they actively thwart investigations into ICE agents for murders that were committed on video.

I guess it would put it to bed for anyone has little to no understanding of science or statistics. For those who do then there are some glaring weaknesses in the reporting. The thing that first jumped out at me is that the article is referencing the entire population of the base. A spokesperson for the Air Force has stated that the outbreak is "localized" to the base's basic training wing. I'm no vet so I'm assuming that the trainees do not generally intermingle with the rest of the troops on base. If that assumption is correct then the analysis in the article you posted is critically flawed because it is assuming a much larger population than what should be accounted for. It would be interesting to know what percentage of vaccinated vs non-vaccinated trainees.

If my assumption is incorrect and they do freely intermingle then the fact that the outbreak is isolated to only the new trainees is a strong indication that the vaccine is highly effective in preventing spread among the rest of the base which I assume has an extremely high vaccination rate.
