Well, since all of our lives are likely to be much -------- in the near future, I decided to at least make the best of tonight and tomorrow.
I've got a gorgeous set of beef short ribs currently braising and my house will smell like delicious caramelized onions, seared beef and thyme/rosemary.
Enjoy life while you can the next few months since I don't think anyone can predict the ripple effects gutting the US government will have on non-government jobs/roles. Certainly can't predict how willfully making unemployment jump many percentage points will influence broader markets.

You realize you're cheering the reelection of a former POTUS who stole boxes of documents and did god knows what with them, right?
You're cheering what is commonly known as espionage.
Don't ever call yourself a patriot you vile POS.

Fox News just said the Harris campaign sent out an email saying they were calling it a night ... They must know something we don't ... oh wait we do ...

Those with critical thinking skills know we're ------.
Idiots like you are the ones on our knees smiling like a moron not realizing an eye full of ---- is in your future.

Looks more and more like some Mass Deportations are on the horizon and not a moment too soon. #200 | Posted by Bluewaffles
Gonna be the first point of pain.
First, is when citizen get caught up in those drag nets and "constitutional conservative patriots" begin rationalizing the violation of their rights..that's a major step down a dark road.
Second will be when prices of good and services rise and everyone suffers. We either eat it or government gets far more involved economically than it has up to now...which is another dark road to go down.
We're in for a whole lot of pain and the GOP isn't even trying to hide it.

You don't realize that infighting is exactly what you are doing?
You really expect me to just smile and play nice with people who let Donald Trump win again because they stupid, incompetent morons?
Nah. F&^% that.

enjoy the infighting, cause that is all you will have
#190 | Posted by truthhurts
Infighting? I'm being vindicated, sport.
Nominating and supporting a turd like Harris in what should have been a slam dunk election is going to get some noses rubbed in some piles.

She needed progressive messaging that spoke directly to what people are worried about. And she didn't do that.
What progressive position was she going to bring on any of those?
She needed to message on those period.
Inflation is back to normal. Jobs are what I would expect for where we are economically and aren't a negative.
Taxes...what would be the message? They would increase? Stay the same?
Immigration was always going to be an anchor around her neck. They thought avoiding it would make it go away. They were wrong.

Her paling around Liz Cheney says you're wrong on that.
#187 | Posted by LauraMohr
That doesn't rebut my comment one bit.

---------------, her campaign simply did not run on her identity, at all.
#179 | Posted by truthhurts
As they shouldn't have.
But it's all the talking heads on BBC keep blathering on about.
Your party should have thought about that before you anointed her without a primary. People don't forget
#173 | Posted by lfthndthrds
Laura is the part who chose Kamala? That's news to me...
Posted by jpw at 2024-11-05 11:17 PM | Reply
Democrats need to have progressive policies instead of being Republican lite. Until then they and we will all lose.
#160 | Posted by LauraMohr
Nope.
Sorry to tell you, but pandering to progressives as much as they do is the problem.
Posted by jpw at 2024-11-05 11:12 PM | Reply
You can't fix stupid but you can message to it.
Dems refuse to do it.
#158 | Posted by Sycophant
Oh, they message to stupid.
It's just they message stupid ---- like Kamala is the first half black half south asian woman who prefers the strawberry part of Neapolitan ice cream to potentially be POTUS.

And Hillary?
#140 | Posted by lfthndthrds
Is there a point to this stupid question?
Hillary was nominated through a primary process and was actually qualified for the position.
Neither of which are true for Kamala.
Posted by jpw at 2024-11-05 11:03 PM | Reply
And the Kamala sycophants trying to sell her here as a commanding candidate who deserved the nomination because she's so "accomplished" blah blah blah.
Looking at people like Corky and Tonyroma...
You'd do well to drop any confidence in your opinions moving forward because holy farking chit were you wrong. Even if she squeaks out a win, holy chit were you wrong.

Have to blame the Dems.
Putting Harris up to begin with was a stupid move that was compounded by how they did it.
America deserves what it's about to get.

Looks like it's gonna be 4 years of Schadenfreude, laughing my ass off as idiots who voted for Trump again get screwed the hardest by his policies.
Posted by jpw at 2024-11-05 10:19 PM | Reply
I think America wil prove unequivocally tonight just how stupid they are.
Abysmally, disturbingly, pathetically stupid.

I never voted for them and I never agreed with their ------ wars. But here you are lying through your teeth and running cover for that horrible candidate who's getting chummy with those very people you're trying to link to me.
#64 | Posted by lfthndthrds
LOL you never supported Iraq/Afghanistan? Never called anti-war people from 2001 through 2016 commies and marxists and blah blah blahs?
I doubt it.
Maybe Hans will use his way back machine and dig up some of your posts in support of those wars over the years.
Funny how none of you -------- support them now but it was was all shrill, 'why do you hate the troops' nonsense when it was going on...

The same legacy GOP warmongers your party just welcomed in with open arms.
#50 | Posted by lfthndthrds
The very people you turned on because the orange carnival barker told you to.
It's funny how you genuinely believe we don't remember who or what you are.
Posted by jpw at 2024-11-05 01:22 PM | Reply
GOP has over-performed in early voting.
The assumption being turnout on election day will be unaffected.
I think that's a very poor assumption.

Park Rangers are like cops. ...
How so?
#22 | Posted by LampLighter
In some states, they're worse than cops because they have greater latitude to search vehicles, enter property ect.

It looks like independents are breaking late toward Harris which means she will probably win.
#36 | Posted by BellRinger
I suspect we're going to see a higher % of R voters voting third party or writing in candidates like DeSantis.
Not only did Trump not sway independents, but he also drove away voters within his own party that he couldn't afford to lose.
Which is why the "ItSz StOlEnZ!!" rhetoric has heated up the last few days.

Quit the race baiting.
#29 | Posted by BellRinger
Yeah, I have to agree on this one.
I live in a lily white suburb and it took me about 1:20 from the time I got at the end of the line (estimated at 350 or so voters) to when I walked out of the polling place.
When I left, the line was still about that long as far as I could tell.
The county released an interactive map of early voting locations that gave estimates of how many people were in line and my wait of 350 or so was the shortest it has been all last week and weekend. My wife got to the same polling place I went to 2 hours early Saturday morning and was person #3 in line. By the time doors opened there was an estimated 560 people in line, wrapping around the building and trailing off down the sidewalk by the entrance.

No it isn't, you need to take the whole of the situation.
Crime Debt Businesses shutting Lack of taking responsibility. Corruption
This isn't due to either sides rhetoric.
No, it's not propaganda, it's [insert propaganda].
STFU moron.
If you read any history it's really because the US in its desire to be wholly democratic, has destroyed the golden goose.
Roman empire lasted a thousand years, the US? Maybe 50 years of glory.
Those days are over.
